Abundant with life, this wet planet is covered in deep oceans, thick forests, and tall grasses.
~ Official Description

Zegema Paradise is one of the five planets that reside within the Kelvin Sector. Following the passing of the Freedom to Serve Act, High Command would authorize construction of a new, state-of-the-art Helldiver training facility on Zegema Paradise, offering the exact same best-in-class elite training that has effectively and safely trained our Helldivers Companion Helldivers for decades.

Topography[]

A volatile volcanic jungle class planet, featuring towering volcanic peaks, lush valleys, rugged coastlines, and intricate river systems -- making it a popular tourist destination prior to the outbreak of the 2nd Galactic War. Since then the many islands of the planet have become host to numerous state-of-the-art Helldiver training facilities.

History[]

For most of it's history Zegema Paradise was a peaceful planet colony of the Federation, at the north-western edge of the Western Galactic Inner Rim. Having been settled during the Great Democratization after the end of the First Galactic War, Zegema Paradise with it's lush tropical beaches, hiking opportunities and proximity to Super Earth would make it a popular tourist destination, particularly for couples after signing their first C-01.

Even after the outbreak of the second galactic war, Zegema Paradise would remain untouched as the enemies of Super Earth never penetrated the inner rim of the federation... until The Great Host appeared of course, and although it happened on the other side of the Galaxy, there was no guarantee that Zegema Paradise and it's picturesque beaches would remain safe forever.

Freedom to Serve Act[]

These accomplishments ensure the Helldivers' peerless martial standards will be upheld by those set to bolster their ranks, upon completion of their rigorous training.
~ High Command -- Operation Pillar of Dawn

To meet popular demand and projected force requirements for total galactic security, on the 3rd of July, 2185, the Federation would pass the Freedom to Serve Act, funded by a temporary Planetary Defense Gratitude Tax to replace the tragic loss of the Mars training facilities. Funds were then allocated to greatly expand the Super Destroyer Fleet, thereby increasing the size of the active Helldiver force. In accordance, a mandatory volunteer recruitment drive would commence in population centers, schools, and veterans' hospitals across federation space.

However in order to train this fresh wave of new recruits, High Command would authorize construction of a new, state-of-the-art Helldiver training facility on Zegema Paradise. Once finished, this facility will offer the exact same best-in-class elite training that has effectively and safely trained our Helldivers Companion Helldivers for decades. A critical need for this endeavor is the acquisition of sufficient live-fire training assets, both in the form of fully-grown terminid specimens and a stable breeding program to afely raise subsequent generations of Terminids for use in safe future training.

Acquisition of all live-fire assets by follow-on teams (with commendably low casualties) for the new Helldiver training facility would be concluded by the 7th of July. Aside from ensuring the Helldivers' peerless martial standards will be upheld by those set to bolster their ranks, this latest victory would also inspire an overswell of patriotism across free space. Citizens flocked to participate in the legally-mandated volunteer recruitment drive, which was expanded to include motivational seminars, weight loss clubs, post-credit scenes for blockbuster films, cereal boxes, and summer camps.

Meanwhile construction of the anvil upon which our continuing Freedom will be forged (the Zegema training facility) proceeded on schedule, as did the corresponding expansion of the Super Destroyer fleet. Once crewed by our new generation of heroes, the resulting armada shall form an unbreakable shield for the Federation, securing a brighter, more prosperous future for all.

FTL Timeline[]

  • February 8th, 2184: Zegema Paradise is connected by FTL to Fort Justice.
  • June 13th, 2184: FTL line to Fort Justice is destroyed.

Trivia[]

  • Zegema Paradise is possibly named after Zegema Beach, a fictional planet from the Starship Troopers film.
  • The demand for "total galactic security" is likely referencing the community's request for "more dudes." In response to this, Arrowhead is releasing Helldivers 2 on Xbox, which is likely what the Freedom to Serve Act is referencing.
