Widow's Harbor is one of the five planets that reside within the Altus Sector. On May 15th, 2185, it became the first planet to ever be fully conquered by The Illuminate Cult.
Topography[]
Similar to Fenrir III and Terrek.
History[]
Second Galactic War[]
Operation Omens Undone[]
Widow's Harbor was a peaceful colony moon of Super Earth in the Eastern Galactic Core. Having been colonized early after the First Galactic War came to an end, Widow's Harbor would rapidly become a hub for transport and its economy would boom, allowing its citizens to quickly build various urban settlements scattered across the moon's surface. At some point, the city of Free Springs would be founded on the Moon's surface.
However, where there was Prosperity there also were appendages eager to sequester it. The Illuminate, an ancient foe of Super Earth, had returned and were now intending to wreak havoc upon the galaxy once more. Following their unannounced return from supposed extinction and their unwarranted attack on Calypso in December 2184, the Illuminate would conduct a planet-hopping campaign throughout the Southern Sectors. During these campaigns, they would harvest Dark Energy that they then siphoned into the
Meridian Singularity in order to propel it towards Super Earth itself.
From February to April, the planets in the Singularity's trajectory would be destroyed, starting with the tragic destruction of Angel's Venture in February, then Moradesh in March and then Ivis early in April 2185. However, following the destruction of Ivis, the government of Super Earth immediately got to work and, following several tribulations, the Ministry of Science would assemble the Repulsive Gravity Field Generator on Pilen V, which was engineered especifically to halt the Singularity entirely.
With their plans on the verge of doom, the Illuminate immediately began a desperate blitz campaign against the Altus Sector at large, targetting critical Super Earth facilities as well. On April 26th, the Illuminate attacked Widow's Harbor alongside Nublaria I, a planet that was poised to be destroyed by the Singularity.
For 12 hours, the Helldivers fought against the Illuminate onslaught but would be unable to repel the invaders. Regardless, this heinous crime would ultimately amount to naught, as the Repulsive Gravity Field Generator would be successfully activated on Pilen V and the Singularity would be halted entirely, saving Nublaria, Pilen V and New Haven from destruction and, despite operational objectives not being met, achieving a momentous victory over the Illuminate, one which would completely wipe them off the Galaxy.
Free Springs Retreat Singularity Party[]

With such a momentous victory over one of Managed Democracy's oldest enemies, renowned DJ "DJ Guard Dawg" would announce a celebratory party at the Free Springs Retreat on the city of Free Springs at Widow's Harbor, where those attending would "Spend some unforgettable moments" and "party in the light of Singularity".
Scheduled to run from 3-10 AM on May 13th, 2185, the event would have limited capacity, with attendance being limited to invites-only, most of which were delivered to select Class A citizens. At the event, additional performances by Creek Mob, Civic Rhythm and Super Citizen Anne's Super Sound would be done live for the attendees, who would also be provided with drinks and rations by the Free Springs Retreat's catering staff. Early arrivals are also authorized to enjoy all leisure benefits the retreat has to offer.
The official sponsors of the event are Eagle Sweat (Eau De Liberté -- Water of Freedom), A Taste of Freedom, Bug Fest and Trustor Bank.
Unfortunately however, Super Citizen Anne's Super Sound would regrettably announce their decision to drop out of the event on May 12th, following an announcement by their lead singer (and also lead surgeon) that, due to an unforeseen increase in severe muscle strain cases caused by excessive saluting, they had gotten an influx of patients that they needed to attend to. They apologized dearly to their fans, wishing to perform for them very soon.[2]
Showtime began later that day... or it would have at any rate...

Illuminate fleet over Widow's Harbor
On the 13th of May at 14:22 hours (SEST), multiple defense satellites monitoring the Meridian Wormhole ceased reporting. This was followed by multiple simultaneous attack reports from outlying SEAF stations in the Widow's Harbor system. Intel has since confirmed the presence of a massive Illuminate fleet, in clear violation of the enemy's recent eradication.
A State of Extratyrannical Emergency has been declared. Illuminate Victory Parties have been converted into Rapid Enlistment Events, bolstering SEAF defenses. High Command believes this Fleet's ultimate objective to be the invasion of Super Earth itself. Three planets lie between the Illuminate and Super Earth: Widow's Harbor, Pilen V, and New Haven. The Helldivers were ordered to immediately and aggressively interdict the Illuminate advance.
Cross-Ministry defense projections indicate that preventing this force from reaching Super Earth is not possible. All 3 planets will fall. The Helldivers must inflict as much damage to the enemy fleet as possible while Mega City defenses are bolstered. Battle on Super Earth is inevitable.
Within hours of the call to arms going out, over 120,000 Helldivers would answer, easily the largest force of Helldiver's assembled since the siege of Calypso. Meanwhile on Super Earth, planetary defenses were being bolstered with the help of volunteer civilians young and old, who refused to abandon the heart of managed democracy. Many citizens "Carried on" working in the face of invasion, whilst others aided the war effort with home gardens and even dissidents would be drafted to join the fight![3]
In the early hours of May 15th, 2184, Widows Harbor was declared lost, and a retreat order has been issued. The fall of this world would also mark the first planet to be officially considered under Illuminate occupation during Second Galactic War, with a whooping 75% liberation decay per hour. Over twenty-two million Helldiver's would die in the planet's defense, but in exchange would kill an estimated 1.4 Billion Illuminate (mostly Voteless) and destroy roughly 6.3% of the Great Host armada. Cold comfort to be sure, but every squid killed here is one less to set foot on Super Earth itself.

Pilen V, Widow's Harbor and New Haven after Illuminate retreat on May 30th
On May 30th, 13:15 SEST, The Illuminate fleet, after a deployment of a successful malware virus, was repelled from Super Earth and in an attempt to instill more fear, retreated from the Altus sector, but not before glassing the planets they held in an act of asset denial and cowardice. Widow’s Harbor, Pilen V, and New Haven are completely uninhabitable, burned soil and ash filled air is now what makes up the planets now called the Gateway to Super Earth.
FTL Timeline[]
