~ Official Description |
Wezen is one of five inhabited worlds within the Ymir Sector. Devoured by constant wildfires, it stands as the gateway into the Trigon Sector.
Topography[ | ]
Together with other planets of its biome, Wezen features mostly mountainous terrain with narrow ravines, accompanied by occasional open plateaus. Elevation changes are rare, but once they appear they are quite steep. Any local flora consists of mostly hardy thorny shrubs, very low grasses, and colonies of exploding mushrooms.
Weather[ | ]
Weather conditions on Wezen are similar to other desert planets like Hellmire and Menkent. This consists of cycling firestorms and fire tornados, followed either by complete lack of clouds or heavy ash choked fog. Expect mostly low visibility as the world burns around you, with the clear weather being an exception. Local fire tornadoes are especially lethal, following random movement patterns and are capable of incinerating anything in mere seconds. The ground itself will stay aflame in its wake, so tread carefully. The hot weather also will also worsen overheating in some weapons such as Quasar Cannons.
Remember - When on fire, Drop and Roll/Stim!
History[ | ]
Second Galactic War[ | ]
First Battle of Wezen (May 23rd-24th)[ | ]
Originally far from frontlines, this planet was theorized to be targeted for invasion by Automatons on their speculative march to Cyberstan. Of course, such rumours quickly fell silent when Automatons Fleets were destroyed during Operation Swift Disassembly.
The planet came under direct attack on May 23, 2184, from direction of occupied Varylia 5. Despite heroic sacrifice of over 350 thousand helldivers, planetary defences and SEAF troops were overwhelmed shortly after noon on May 24th.
Second Battle of Wezen (June 7th-8th) (Operation Valiant Resistance)[ | ]
On June 7th, 2184, High Command announced a liberation campaign against the Automaton Data Center One on planet Wasat, deeper in Ymir Sector. Wezen was quickly identified by the Helldiver Corps as the best way to approach the target planet. The first Super Destroyers arrived on early afternoon of same day, however initial progress was slow but promising, enough so for High Command to send out a strategic update advising Helldivers to target Wezen. SEAF reinforcements quickly flooded in and progress was being made, with the planet being liberated on early hours of June 8th, 2184.
Third Battle of Wezen (July 3rd - 4th)[ | ]
On July 3rd, 2184, an Automaton attack from Varylia 5 reached the planet, at the same time as X-45 in same sector was also struck by invasion fleet. The latter received a greater amount of troops due to its importance in Major Order, leaving Wezen to a grim fate.
Fourth Battle of Wezen July 4th - 6th)[ | ]
After the Automaton attack, a liberation campaign began on Wezen. However, with a more pressing defense campaign on X-45 and a campaign to cut off the attack on Meissa not many forces have been dedicated here. By July 5th, Wezen was nearly in full Automaton command. A small force of ~300 lone Helldivers is holding on by a thread to prevent the encirclement of the S.E.A.F forces in the Ymir sector, which includes over half of all Helldiver squadrons currently. Wezen fell on July 6th. 16,000 Helldivers are left surrounded in the remaining systems of the Ymir sector, desperately holding the line to protect the X system.
Operation Liberty Crush & Operation Vengeful Cleansing (August 2nd - August 4th)[ | ]
After the fall of Wezen, it would be under Automaton Occupation for the remainder of July, as the Helldivers would divert towards other objectives. However, Wezen wasn't lost yet as, soon after their victory at X-45, the Helldivers would manage to secure a defensive line of planets that split the bot front in half, with Wezen being within the encircled domain. As such, Super Earth High Command issued an order for the immediate recapture of the encircled planets, with Wezen as one of its key targets.
The battles were fierce, but despite the immense sacrifice, the Helldivers were too late in liberating Wezen, making Operation Liberty Crush a close failure, yet not completely in vain, as Wezen would still be liberated on the early hours of August 4th, during Operation Vengeful Cleansing. Furthermore the successful defence of Marfark, both the Ymir and Andromeda Sectors are once again securely in Super Earths hands. Whilst the Automaton's may have won the battle, strategy of dividing the bot forces is now a firm reality, with only Troost and Vandalon IV still in automaton clutches in the Trigon Sector, the Super Earth Armed Forces are well on their way to winning the war.

Trivia[ | ]
- This planet orbits star named Delta Canis Majoris, which is officially also named Wezen
- Wezen (alternatively Wesen, or Wezea), is derived from the medieval Arabic وزن al-wazn, which means 'weight' in modern Arabic. Many other planets in the Northwestern region of the galaxy have also Arabic names, such as Menkent and Wasat.
- Wezen orbits a twin system of Hot Jupiters (Green and Red) gas giants, together with three other moons.
