The Warrior is the second step in age of the Scavenger that can appear on any difficulty; with their next age being into a Brood Commander.
Moving at a moderate pace, their only means of attack are their razor sharp claws.
Anatomy[ | ]
Tactics[ | ]
- Hit them on the soft spots underneath them or directly in the face. Alternatively, use shotguns or armor-piercing weapons to take their heads off with ease. When they come in groups, use Eagle strikes or anti-tank weaponry to blow up groups of them all at once.
- The Breaker shotgun is also recommended for taking them out in an effective manner.
- A lesser-known ability that this warrior bug has is to crawl underground and appear behind a helldiver for a surprise attack. This can be performed regardless of the terrain a Helldiver is standing on.
- Its weak spots are the legs. However, "blowing off a limb it will remain 86% combat effective", so aim to break two legs. Aiming for the head is also an effective strategy, however this will put the body into berserk mode for several seconds before dying. In berserker mode, it has increased attack speed and slightly increased movement.
- It is advised to gain distance from a warrior before destroying its head.
- Shooting it's headless corpse repeatedly until it finally dies, is also an alternative
- These strategems are very effective for clearing groups of warriors:
- ARC-3 Arc Thrower
- M-105 Stalwart
- MG-43 Machine Gun
- RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher
- Eagle Cluster Bomb;
- A/G-16 Gatling Sentry (for defense, not for offense);
- Orbital Airburst Strike;
- Orbital Gas Strike;
- AX/LAS-5 "Guard Dog" Rover.
- Weapons like the EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank or the LAS-99 Quasar Cannon are capable of one-shotting a Warrior and turning it into a pile of bile.
- In more recent engagements, the warrior has gained increase speed and is capable of dealing more damage to helldiver's, this make's range combat far more of a neccessity than before.
- These strategems are very effective for clearing groups of warriors:
Variations[ | ]
The Warrior comes in two other variants with their own unique abilities and tactics.
Bile Warrior[ | ]
Variant of the Warrior, whose body chemistry appear to be unstable and overproduce caustic chemicals like the Bile Spitter, Bile Spewer and Bile Titan.
Hive Guard[ | ]
Variant of the Warrior, a moderately armored bug that are often defending bug hole entrances, but can also lead patrols of Terminids in search of food or intruders. Believed to be an evolutionary stage behind the Charger.
Notes[ | ]
The warriors have a fourth form that can only be summoned by Alpha Commanders. These “Alpha Warriors” of sorts are nearly identical to their normal counterparts, however, they are incredibly fast, being able to close the distance between itself and a Helldiver only slightly slower than a Stalker.
