~ Official Description |
Trandor is one of the five planets that reside within the Sten Sector.
Topography[ | ]
Similar to Angel's Venture and Omicron
History[ | ]
Second Galactic War[ | ]
Trandor was part of the planet colonies lost during the initial Terminid Outbreak in February of 2184. Since the planet was located on edge of Super Earth space, help was not able to arrive on time during initial chaos, leaving it forsaken by freedom....or so it seemed.
Operation Overrun (September 2nd-3rd, 2184)[ | ]
Trandor would remain in Terminid claws until an incursion from this direction was detected into neighboring Jin Xi Sector. After the attacks were quickly repelled, Ministry of Science begun calculating optimal FTL paths that could be used by Super Destroyers.
The following day, by the time calculations have been finalized, another attack arrived from this world into Gatria. Pre-emptive scans from present Super Destroyers on orbit indicated one of greatest concentrations of Terminid interstellar spores up to date. It is suspected the attack from day before was simply a form of Terminid Vanguard.
Nevertheless, with the second attack repelled just like the first one, the first Super Destroyers began to deploy on Trandor, finding it to be, just like Omicron before it, left unspoiled by the Terminid plague despite months of occupation. With the knowledge gained from the failed L'estrade Expeditions, the Helldivers began the slow march towards Trandor's liberation.
Operation Critical Mass[ | ]
The Battle for Trandor was a slow, grueling process. The Helldivers turned every rock, uprooted every shrubbed and searched every tree, preserving the beauties of this perennial planet while purging its fascist infestation, baptizing Trandor into a new life of Freedom under the stewardship of the Federation.
However, during this process, the Terminids that remained hidden in Trandor made one final attempt at saving their tyrannical appendages from complete democratization. On September 11th, they would launch yet another assault onto Gatria. This assault could not have been more poorly timed; as the Helldivers, having explicit orders to cull the number of Terminid Warriors and Bile Spewers, would make a full display of Super Earth's military might, delivering some of the highest caliber Liberty available onto the assaulting Terminids, completely wiping them out in just 12 hours.
This assault would seal the fate of Trandor's parasitic totalitarians, as now they had not only exposed themselves to the Helldivers already in Trandor.
They had also depleted the bulk of Trandor's Terminid Hives.
Operation Liberty Tide[ | ]
With the Terminid Hatcheries in Trandor nowhere near ready, the Helldivers would deploy en masse onto the perennial planet, seeking to put an end to Gatria's terror, avenge the lost citizens from the initial outbreak, but most important of all, make Trandor be born anew into the light of Liberty as a prosperous planet colony of Super Earth.
For 3 days, the Helldivers battled on Trandor, struggling at first due to logistical challenges related to the liberation of Pandion and certain defeats in the Automaton Front.
Then, on September 21st, 2184, Trandor's last Terminid was appropriately cleansed in Liberty-blessed Napalm and Caustic Gas, as the Helldivers liberated a planet in the Sten Sector for the first time since the start of the war, sending a clear message to those that supported Super Earth and to its enemies, both bug and bot alike: That Liberty Prevails Once More.
Operation Ring of Freedom[ | ]
Trandor would remain free for 2 weeks, as the first colonists arrived to Trandor. However, they wouldn't even be able to begin pitching their sufficiently sized dwelling units before the Terminids went to snatch their new homes away from them. On October 11th, the Terminids sent an assault onto Trandor. However, it would not receive much Helldiver assistance, as other planets in the Jin Xi sector had been designated as Major Order targets, which pretty much doomed Trandor into oblivion, leaving it undefended and leading to its fall on October 12th.
