Helldivers are authorized to 
Terminate Illegal Broadcast towers in their mission area. Traitorous humans have set up a Broadcast Station that actively spreads anti-democratic propaganda and is considered a high priority when spotted in the field. It can be found as a primary objective on difficulties Trivial (1) and Easy (2), and found as a side objective on the rest of the difficulties above that.
Tips[]
There are two ways one can destroy this objective:
- Interacting with the terminal at the base of the broadcast tower, following the proper input prompts and aligning the proper signal strength to fully disable the broadcast
- Using any form of explosives. Orbital Stratagems, Airstrikes, grenades, and Support weaponry all are capable of dealing with the broadcast tower itself much faster than manually disabling it via the terminal. Ranged Support weapons, such as the EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank, GR-8 Recoilless Rifle, LAS-99 Quasar Cannon, and AC-8 Autocannon can be used to destroy the terminal from nearly any range. When firing at long distances, it's easiest to aim for the TV screens at the top of the tower for a wider target.
Like other tall objectives, the broadcast tower can be spotted from nearly any distance so long as the player isn't on a planet with low visibility. It's very easy to spot due to the bright display of the TV screens that encircle the top of the tower.
Trivia[]
- There are two different versions of propaganda that the Broadcast Tower displays depending on what war front the player is currently on.
- If the player is fighting Automatons they will see images of Automatons with text stating "WE HAVE OBLITERATED INEQUALITY" and "SURRENDER AND YOU WILL NOT BE DESTROYED".
- If the player is fighting Terminids they will see images of Terminids with text stating "WAKE UP PEOPLE! THE BUG MENACE IS A SUPER EARTH CONSTRUCT!" and "THIS THREAT IS ALL ABOUT OIL! THE GOVERNMENT MADE THIS!".
- Although dissidents appear to be active in the Galactic South, they have not yet adapted their messaging for the Illuminate threat. The consistent messaging does allow the Ministry of Intelligence to more easily locate them.
- The crudely-created propaganda images, having played for too long a time on displays intended for video, may have burned into the screens, and thus appear to remain even after the transmission is terminated. Any such malfunctioning displays should be destroyed entirely.
- While the displays and speakers can be attacked with any ranged weapon, the tower itself appears to be the ultimate objective of destruction.
