Tarsh is one of the five planets that reside within the Marspira Sector. After the liberation of Gaellivare on September 27th, 2184, Tarsh would be the location of the
DSS Logistics Hub until it was destroyed by the
Automatons and their
Jet Brigade in November 2184.
Topography and Astrography[]
A Pelican shuttle flies back to its Super Destroyer Squadron, awaiting in orbit over Tarsh
Similar to Socorro III, Tarsh is a planet comprised of a single supercontinental landmass that is only separated by a single massive strait connect the ocean on each of the planet's poles. This supercontinental landmass is itself covered in a rough, never-ending semi-mountanious marshland full of petrified mangrove trees endemic to the planet, grown over the past century after the planet warmed out of its glaciation.
The ground is full of all kinds of alien shrubberies, bushes and mud that will slow down any Helldivers undertaking combat operations on Tarsh's surface. However, this xenoflora also makes for good camouflage should a stealthier approach be necessary. The only interruptions to the otherwise perpetual swamp are the lakes and rivers that cut through the marshland, appearing deceptively shallow on the surface, but often being deep enough to be completely untraversable by foot.
The Hazy Marshlands of Tarsh
One type of particular plant that has been catalogued on Tarsh are the Flamer Stumps. These are apparently dead tree stumps that secrete a bright green goo that, when ignited by gunfire or explosives, can combust almost instantaneously. Any Helldiver caught next to a Flamer Stump will not only be hit by the explosion but also set ablaze, almost as if they were caught in the radius of a
Incineration Corps grenade.
Tarsh originally wasn't home to any Mega Cities, only really having been populated by sparse civilian encampments and scattered
S.E.A.F. outposts built during the initial Automaton advance in the Reclamation campaign. However, once the construction of the
Democracy Space Station began, Tarsh would be selected as the site for the
DSS Logistics Hub, which saw the planet's population explode and forced unprecedented levels of urban development in order to house all of the new residents and staff of the installation.
The Bay of Fearless Hollow, as seen in a Super Destroyer's Galactic War Map by a Helldiver.
For this purpose, three Mega Cities were built, which will be listed up next. Mega City tiers have no effect on level generation and only serve to determine a city's health pool in the galactic war map. The three Mega Cities built on Tarsh are the settlements of Fortitude and Freedom's Torch, as well as the new planetary capital Settlement of Fearless Hollow were constructed.
Besides these Mega Cities, Tarsh would also see numerous urbanized colonies built all throughout the supercontinent, which would house its rural population. While the three Mega Cities might appear unimportant, their combined ~34.12% campaign progression bonus when liberated can provide a significant early boost to any campaigns being conducted on the planet.
The Tarsh System is comprised of planet Tarsh itself, its orbiting red, rocky moon and at least one other astronomical body, which is a gas giant. Additionally, 2 orange nebulas can be observed from Tarsh's orbit. The Tarsh System, up until August 2184, would remain the rearguard of the Automaton Front after the fall of the Menkent Line. Following a failed offensive towards Super Earth, Tarsh would see itself thrust into the Second Galactic War as the closest point to Super Earth that
Automaton forces had ever reached at that point.
After this offensive, Tarsh's role in the ongoing conflict would only grow as it soon became closely linked to the construction of the Democracy Space Station thanks to the establishment of the
DSS Logistics Hub. However, despite such an important installation being built on Tarsh, the planet would see almost no action until the completion of the Democracy Space Station saw the
Jet Brigade launch a massive offensive onto Tarsh, which subsequently destroyed the facility. Despite this, Tarsh's importance wouldn't go away since the
Centre for Civilian Surveillance and Safety would be built on neighboring Mastia a measly 2 months later, once again making Tarsh into a crucial flank that is to be kept under control for all matters regarding the security of the CCSS.
History[]
Second Galactic War[]
Operation People's Shield[]
Tarsh had been, ever since the start of the war against the Automatons, a solitary planet, cut off the rest of the Marspira Sector as its Colonial Overseer saw the incoming threat from nearby Aesir Pass and Vernen Wells. As the months passed, Tarsh would remain in a type of tense, fragile peace, as the Automatons inched ever closer to the Marspira Sector until, in August 17th, 2184, Tarsh's peace would be taken from it.
After successfully punching into neighboring Curia in August 11th, the Automatons would then restore the FTL line to Tarsh and launched a massive onslaught, in their desperate push towards Super Earth. However, the Automatons wouldn't count with the Helldivers' superior military strategy, as the Helldivers would capture Curia on August 18th, only a day after their initial push into Tarsh. The Automaton offensive would be forced to withdraw back to Vernen Wells that day.
However, this would not be the end of Tarsh's problems as the Automatons that survived would withdraw to Vernen Wells and, on August 20th, sent a second assault onto Tarsh through a newly formed FTL line connecting Vernen Wells and Tarsh, while also launching an assault onto neighboring Curia in a desperate attempt to hold on to their vanguard at the Marspira Sector.
Operation Critical Mass[]
Though primarily focused towards the Terminid containment zone on the eastern front, the secondary objective for Operation Critical Mass was the Automaton-controlled planets Tarsh and Mastia as both contain significant manufactories producing polystyrene foam, an important precursor to napalm. If both planets could be liberated within the duration of the operation, it would be possible to immediately roll out the Orbital Napalm Barrage for fleetwide acquisition. While the reduction of the Terminid population demanded critical attention, many helldivers saw the acquisition of these planets and their critical facilities as being more important for the long-term war effort.
Initially progress on Tarsh would be slow, with the majority of Helldiver and SEAF's focused on the neighboring desert planet of Mastia. However following its liberation on the 15th of September, 2184, Helldivers would gain access to the orbital napalm barrages now that the planet's polystyrene foam manufactories were under federation control. Moreover, Tarsh was cutoff from all adjacent Automaton systems, and their resistance crumbled as a result! While the isolated bots on Tarsh fought fiercely, they couldn’t hold off the Helldivers, bringing the planet back into Liberty’s warm embrace, and unlocking the Orbital Napalm Barrage fleet-wide.
Operation Leap Forward[]

| ~ DSS Logistics Hub Description |
After the Helldivers have managed to retake Gaellivare from the Automatons' clutches, securing an ideal construction site for the
Democracy Space Station, A DSS Logistics Hub would be set up on Tarsh to manage the massive amount of resources and manpower which would be needed in the battle station's construction.
Operation Spark of Liberty[]
Since its final liberation in September, Tarsh would have seen pretty much zero attacks, allowing the DSS Logistics work to perform its duties without much interruption. However, this peace was not guaranteed, as Vernen Wells stood nearby with the Automaton Vanguard still waiting. The situation would only worsen when, in October, the Jet Brigade would take over Matar Bay and Martale before the Helldivers could put a temporary stop to them. As the DSS neared completion, the
Automatons began to relocate the remnants of the Jet Brigade and, following their failed attempts of expansion, began to rebuild the
Jet Brigade on Vernen Wells.
By November 11th, the writing was on the wall. The
Automatons had rebuilt the nefarious special force and were preparing to take over Tarsh and, after it, Gaellivare, in a last ditch attempt to destroy the Democracy Space Station.
On the afternoon of November 11th, Tarsh would send an urgent emergency distress signal, reporting the presence of the Jet Brigade and at least 58 Automaton Battalions, the single biggest enemy onslaught faced in the war so far, even surpassing the Terminid Superonslaught faced in Socorro III in August 6th, 2184.
The main Helldiver fleet turned up on Tarsh immediately, decided to inflict as many casualties on the
Jet Brigade numbers as possible, in hopes of ultimately inflicting enough damage to allow for the strike force's defeat on a later defense. The remaining garrisons of the Colonial Defense and what little civilian stragglers had been left behind would be joined by almost every Helldiver there was in the corps, fighting shoulder to shoulder to keep the robotic tide at bay as desperate evacuations of important personnel were made.
But despite the immense courage and bravery, the
Automatons had come in plenty of numbers towards the marshy planet. Tarsh would fall on November 12th, but not after an acceptable number of high-value personnel was evacuated. While the DSS Logistics Hub was destroyed, the facility had fulfilled its purpose and was of no more use. However, through its capture, the Automatons had pinpointed the location of the Democracy Space Station at Gaellivare and began to rally their forces in preparation for an advance towards it.
Operation Liberty Shield[]
Tarsh would remain under Automaton occupation since its fall in November, with the Helldivers successfully activating the DSS but having to contend with higher priority targets both at the Terminid front and at the Automaton front, which left Tarsh seemingly without a chance for liberation. That would change once the new year had come. On January 2nd, 2185, the government of Super Earth approved the FREEDOM act, which allowed the Ministry of Unity greater liberty to handle internal and external threats. In order to handle such threats, they necessitated the construction of a new Center for Citizen Surveillance and Safety at neighboring Mastia. However, given that not only was Mastia under the control of the Automatons but also connected to their vanguard forces through Tarsh, the order was given that Gaellivare, Tarsh and Mastia were all liberated and held for the 5 days of the operation.
Tarsh would see an initial wave of around 17,000 Super Destroyers deployed onto its surface, while the main Helldiver fleet concentrated on liberating Mastia. On January 5th, with Mastia fully secured, the main Helldiver fleet immediately began relocation towards Tarsh. Things would go smoothly for the Helldiver Corps on Tarsh until, later in the day, the Automaton forces on Lesath moved to attack Gaellivare, forcing the Helldivers to split which ultimately only served to slow down Tarsh's liberation, as the Helldivers could not commit enough manpower to Gaellivare's defense.
Despite this setback, Tarsh was liberated on January 7th, with the Helldivers that departed for Gaellivare managing to successfully hold the lines at preventing the liberation loss that would have usually followed after a failed defense. With this momentum behind them and with Tarsh safe, the Helldivers moved to secure Gaellivare.
Operation Equilibrium[]
Tarsh would be attacked by the Automatons once more on the May 5th, 2184, this time with the newly rebuilt Jet Brigade leading the charge. The vertically enhanced toasters would prove to be decisive for the coming battle, swiftly destroying all SEAF defenses by the evening of the 6th of May before retreating to Vernen Wells to escape the reinforcing Helldiver Corps retribution.
Initially SEAF forces held a relatively strong position on the planet, but unfortunately this would prove short lived. Significant ground would be ceded to the enemy before liberation efforts could properly begin, with the SEAF ground units blaming a "lack of rations" as the cause. The cowardly traitors have since been court-martialed and democratically executed.
Despite this, the fight did not stop. Tarsh was slowly re-liberated between May 6th and May 8th. On May 7th,
Jet Brigade has evacuated from Tarsh, back into Automaton controlled space, leaving bot resistance on Tarsh on nominal levels. Planet has been liberated on May 8th, 2185 at 12:30 Central SE Time. While the victory there was guaranteed, DSS was used to hammer the final nail to socialist coffin.
Operation Drydock Lockout[]
On July 15th, 2185, the
Automatons would launch multiple simultaneous assaults on planets with highly-populated Super Earth cities. Ministry of Intelligence analysis reported with a high degree of confidence that the strategic objective of this invasion is to take control of key Democracy Space Station facilities. These being the Deep Mantle Forge Complex on Claorell, the old DSS Logistics Hub on Tarsh and the original DSS Construction Site on Gaellivare.
It was quite evident the enemy intended to destabilize the capacity of the highly-effective DSS, and possibly turn our facilities to their own socialist aims. Furthermore, enemy troop movements indicated that this was only the first of several planned waves of attack, with additional invasions are anticipated. Ministry of Intelligence analysis also reported with an extremely high degree of confidence that the
Automatons also intend to wantonly murder as many innocent civilians as possible.
Thus the
Helldivers were ordered to immediately report to the defense of all assaulted planets. Prevent the capture of our cities and bloodthirsty violence against our civilians. And hold the key DSS facilities at all costs.
The massive automaton offensive struck the planet on July 16th, at 11:30 SEST time. Harboring the same strength as the one that struck Claorell on day prior, a heavy fight is expected.
Shortly after the defense began, specialists from the MINDEF Cyberwarfare division on Oasis discovered a major vulnerability in the
Automaton network. Unfortunately, the specialists still needed more time to perform their hack. And, as fate would have it, the
Illuminate began a sizable assault on the planet. High Command, recognizing the significance of securing the hack, issued a secondary order for the
Helldivers to defend Oasis and ensure the success of the cyberattack.
Sadly, with the
Helldivers too split between Oasis and Tarsh, the
Illuminate were inevitably able to capture the former, leading to the annulment of the plans to circumvent the
Automaton defense grid. Luckily, with plenty of time to spare still in the fight for Tarsh, thousands of Helldivers would abandon Oasis and deploy to Tarsh to halt the Automaton advance.
Sure enough, Tarsh would eventually be defended by July 18th, securing freedom on the swampy planet for now.
Operation Ultrakill -
Automaton Invasion[]
The next month would see Tarsh and the rest of the
Automaton front go on relatively quietly. By the end of Operation Drydock Lockout, Claorell and its
Deep Mantle Forge Complex had fallen to the Automaton
Incineration Corps in a mighty blow to the
Helldivers. Luckily, with the Helldivers then ordered to exterminate mass quantities of Factory Striders in Operation Culling Nightmares, Claorell was able to be retaken roughly a week and a half after its fall. With most of the damage mitigated, Tarsh could finally go on in relative peace, though never truly in total peace with the Automaton menace remaining ever-present on its northern neighbor, Vernen Wells.
On August 19th, just moments after successful liberation efforts on 4 planets on the Eastern Front, the
Terminids would seemingly respond by launching four massive assaults with at least 30 million broods each across Erata Prime, Fenrir III, Turing, and Achernar Secundus. The situation was dire, with massive spore outflows fueling an unprecedented attack. All
Helldivers were ordered to deploy to the defense of these worlds, and were ordered to exterminate 6,000,000,000 Terminids to stop their onslaught.
Amidst the crisis in the East, the
Helldivers were at least able to defend Fenrir III, but were struggling across all other 3 planets assaulted. Meanwhile, amidst the developments in the East, a certain robotic menace planned to take advantage of the attack. The
Automatons, becoming aware of the
Terminid assault, began an attack of their own with a triple onslaught of Mort, Charon Prime, and Julheim on August 21. With yet another joint Automaton-Terminid offensive seemingly underway, the Helldivers were now ordered to hold on 2 fronts while also eliminating 1,500,000,000 Automatons to stop their advance.
The situation would only worsen on August 22nd. For the first time during the Second Galactic War,
Super Earth would face a three-pronged assault as the
Illuminate joined in on the offensive with 2 brutal attacks beginning on Grafmere and Parsh. A Federation-wide crisis was officially declared, and the
S.E.A.F. was losing ground rapidly. Now, the
Helldivers were tasked with killing 1,000,000,000 Illuminate combatants to halt their attack.
The crisis was beginning to deepen. By August 23, the Federation was in tatters. The
Terminids had collapsed the
Xenoentomology Centre on Turing and taken over the
Factory Hub on Achernar Secundus. The
Illuminate were ravaging through Grafmere and Parsh nearly unimpeded. More crucially for Tarsh, the
Automatons had unleashed their rebuilt
Jet Brigade on its western flank of Curia to shatter through the Marspira Sector. Simultaneously, in coordination with their attack, the Automatons completed a cyberattack on the
Democracy Space Station, directly targeting its Eagle Storm booster which, when activated, halts offensives on the planet it is stationed on for 24 hours. The cyberattack was successful, and the Eagle Storm booster was officially out of commission for the next 3 days, and the
Helldivers were blocked from funding it.
Amidst the carnage elsewhere, trouble began to occur in the Lacaille Sector. The rebuilt Automaton
Incineration Corps was now spotted on Choohe and Penta during the early morning hours of August 24. The Corps would then move to Matar Bay and Lesath, before eventually stationing themselves on Marfark and Vernen Wells each. Now, it appeared the
Incineration Corps would use both planets as their launching pad to launch an offensive. And with that, Tarsh's short-lived peace was on the brink of collapse.
Sure enough, by 7:20 AM SEST, the Automaton
Incineration Corps launched a dual, insurmountable assault on Bekvam III and Tarsh with a massive force of 45 battalions on each planet.
Sadly, in the first few hours of the campaign, few
Helldivers would join the defense of either planet, most still choosing to battle the Automaton
Jet Brigade on Curia along with the other two fronts. Eventually, by 10:00 AM SEST, Curia fell to the
Jet Brigade, opening up a slight influx of Helldivers to Tarsh while Bekvam III was largely neglected. Even so, the
Incineration Corps would be untroubled in taking significant ground on the swampy world, and this would only be furthered by the subsequent invasion by the
Jet Brigade of Fenmire and the
Illuminate incursion on Effluvia in the Super Earth-bordering Cancri Sector. Support began to drain out on Tarsh, and by each hour, the planet seemed to be doomed to fall.
On August 26, Tarsh had officially fallen to the Automaton
Incineration Corps, who then began to station on the planet to likely launch an assault further to the northeast on Mastia.
Oddly enough, the
Automatons wouldn't make a move at Mastia for nearly a month. Instead, the
Incineration Corps has remained stationed on Tarsh, building themselves up whilst the
Helldivers have been battling to defeat The Gloom once and for all. As such, Tarsh has remained in a strange paralysis of sorts, while Mastia's citizens grow more and more worried by the day. Even so, a contingent of 4,000-6,000 Helldivers remained stationed on Tarsh to battle the
Incineration Corps and eventually took the settlement of the sprawling city, Fearless Hollow. Still, with significant Automaton resistance on the planet, the bots managed to drag all the liberation progress gained from freeing Fearless Hollow back to 0%, ensuring that Tarsh will remain in an odd limbo until the Automatons make their next move.
Operation Split Synapse[]
On October 1, 2185, the Automaton
Incineration Corps had still been stationed on Tarsh for well over a month by this point. Having made no further moves as of yet, the incendiary marauders continued to plan for their inevitable next acts of tyranny. Their plotting would become evident as the enemy resistance rate tracker revealed that Automaton resistance on the planet had sharply risen from 1.15% to 1.92% on the morning of October 1st, clearly indicating that the
Automatons had significantly built up their forces.
Some hours after the build-up of bot forces on Tarsh, new orders were issued by High Command on the Western Front. During the early days of the Second Galactic War, the
Helldiver liberation of Wasat from the
Automatons had the benefit of uncovering a secret Automaton database. Attempts to decrypt this intel had proven frustratingly unfruitful, but over a year removed from those efforts, the recent liberation of the
Ultramafic Mine on Mintoria brought forth a breakthrough. Automaton files revealed that data caches on Aesir Pass and Menkent were believed to contain a key to finally decrypt some of the information from the Wasat database. On Aesir Pass, the key would unlock intel regarding the so-called "Nucleus". On Menkent, the key would unlock intel regarding "Vessel 00." However, High Command had also acknowledged that the moment one of the two data caches on either planet became compromised, the other set of data would be wiped by the Automatons. Only one of the two data caches could likely be recovered. As such, the Helldivers were ordered to make a tough choice: either to liberate Aesir Pass to unlock intel on the Nucleus, or to liberate Menkent to discover information on Vessel 00.
The
Helldivers would be initially split up in these efforts. Both Aesir Pass and Menkent were locked behind other
Automaton-controlled planets, necessitating the Helldivers to have to forge a path to each. With Tarsh on the paving stone to both Curia and Vernen Wells- both of which would lead to the Major Order targets- the majority of the Corps would initially head to the planet, also hoping to knock out the
Incineration Corps that remained on the swampy world. The combined force of thousands of Helldivers led to the swift liberation of the large-scale settlement, Fearless Hollow, providing a significant boost to the planet's liberation and securing a beachhead for further operations on the world.
However, Tarsh's chance at peace evaporated quickly. Though the
Helldivers initially deployed to the world, an opportunity was summarily spotted elsewhere on Lesath. By liberating Lesath, it would provide a one-step route to the Major Order target of Menkent, an overall shorter route than having to liberate both Tarsh and either Curia or Vernen Wells just to reach Aesir Pass or Menkent-though it would assuredly come at the cost of essentially abandoning the intel on the Nucleus on Aesir Pass. With heavy hearts, the Helldivers re-routed the
Democracy Space Station from Tarsh to Lesath at midnight on October 2nd, and the majority of those operating on Tarsh flocked to the frigid chokepoint of Lesath to begin liberation operations on the planet.
By the next day, all the liberation progress on Tarsh had already been undone by the
Automatons, in large part due to the significant spike in their resistance rate a day earlier. It is now unlikely that the planet will see any serious liberation efforts for the rest of the ongoing operation. Though the liberation efforts on Lesath and Menkent are as crucial as ever, it has left the risk of the
Incineration Corps continuing to build up unabated on Tarsh.
Operation Big Brother[]
Two Helldivers are moving towards the evacuation point after a clash with an Automaton infantry platoon. November 19th, 2185.
The chance that Tarsh had been robbed off would not have gone away in vain. Over the course of October and the first two weeks of November, the Automatons would be progressively flushed out of the Marspira Sector. By November 13th, Fenmire and Barabos had been liberated and Curia would follow by the early hours of November 14th, leaving only Tarsh remaining. And soon, its new chance for liberation would come as radiant as Tarsh's sun. Reports from the
Centre for Civilian Surveillance and Safety had recently identified disturbingly high levels of dissident activity in multiple domestic planets, with Gaellivare, Alta V and Diluvia requiring the activation of Loyalty Intervention & Enforcement Squads (L.I.E.S) to help quail the State of Patriotic Emergency that had just been declared on said planets.
The ongoing dissidence crisis illuminated the necessity for immediate expansion for the Centre of Surveillance, which required the rapid acquisition of
Illuminate and
Automaton material alike. For this purpose, High Command would order the Helldivers to acquire 15,000,000 Common Samples from Illuminate-controlled planets and 62,500,000 Common Samples from Automaton-controlled planets. With the campaign at Curia having ended mere hours after the issuing of this new Major Order, the majority of the Helldiver Fleet would immediately relocate onto Tarsh's orbit, while a significant contingent departed for Effluvia to fight the Illuminate, as well as to Pandion-XXIV to aid with the containment of a
Rupture Strain outbreak.

For a long time, only a relatively small contingent of Super Destroyers,
Helldivers and regular
S.E.A.F. units operated on Tarsh. However, the second attack by the
Automatons on Mastia from Tarsh during Operation Big Brother, which this time had a chance of success, left the Command with no choice but to send significant forces (about a third of the Helldiver Corps and a classified number of regular units) on the 18th of November to liberate this foggy, swampy planet and prevent further attacks by the Automatons on Mastia. In addition, the very fact that the socialist robots controlled a planet 'bordering' Mastia, where the
Centre for Civilian Surveillance and Safety was built (and where, as of the 18th of November, active expansion work was underway), posed a major threat to the political stability of
Super Earth. From 9:00 to 14:00 SEST, the number of troops involved in the liberation of Tarsh increased approximately 16-fold.
Thanks to the long-term holding of the Fearless Hollow Settlement (one of the three largest municipalities on the planet) even before this operation, SEAF had already prepared a springboard for further offensive operations. Thus, at 17:15 SEST on the 18th of November, just 8 hours after the start of the large-scale campaign on Tarsh, 9% of the planet's territory had already been liberated, despite resistance from the sparcse but organised Automaton occupation forces. The offensive was also supported by the
Democracy Space Station, which, after successfully completing the defence of Mastia, moved into Tarsh's orbit and continued to apply the Eagle Storm tactical action with the help of its air group.
A Helldiver shoots down an Automaton gunship flying near a destroyed outpost. November 19th, 2185.
The number and ferocity of combat engagements steadily increased with each passing hour of the liberation campaign. Despite straining all the mechanisms of their mechanical arms and the computing power of their processors, the
Automatons still failed to stop the powerful
S.E.A.F. offensive, whose units soon entered both Freedom's Torch and Fortitude. Outside these settlements, namely in the swampy terrain that stretched across the uninhabited territories of Tarsh, the robots were subjected to systematic surprise attacks and ambushes. Even the use of gunships by the Automatons rarely helped them in combat, especially against
Helldivers, as the underdeveloped gunship scanners had great difficulty operating in areas with such dense and abundant vegetation, which the
Federation military personnel took advantage of.
Ultimately, after nearly three days of fighting, at approximately 04:45 SEST on the 20th of November, Tarsh was finally liberated from socialist occupation, and Mastia's defence against external security threats was fully secured. In addition, with the liberation of Tarsh, the Automatons were completely driven out of the Marspira Sector.
Festival of Reckoning 2185[]
A scout Helldiver watches from cover as an explosion destroys the Detector Tower. December 29th, 2185.
During Super Earth second half of Festival of Reckoning (December 27th),
Jet Brigade would attack Tarsh with strength level 52. While a smaller
Illuminate attack has hit Alamak system couple hours earlier, most of
Helldivers redeployed on Tarsh for mandatory destruction of vertically-enhanced toasters. However, the sheer strength of this attack proved to be more than corps could chew. Despite the systematic defenses of all Settlements and
Democracy Space Station assistance, Automatons were not taking enough losses to halt their attack.
To the very end a force of 20 thousand Super Destroyers with
Helldivers on board fought on the marshes of Tarsh, until
S.E.A.F. was forced to withdraw on evening of December 28th. Mysteriously,
Jet Brigade disappeared from radars shortly after the
S.E.A.F. defenses collapsed; likely retreating back into
Automaton space to avoid being annihilated by the
Helldiver Corps like the
Incineration Corps had been on Julheim several days earlier.
A scout Helldiver fires at Devastators standing at a distance. December 29th, 2185.
Despite this loss, the celebrations of Reckoning continued, as the Major Order objective was still in green (+3). Additionally the momentum to retake the planet was strong, with the
Helldivers and
S.E.A.F. Army making good progress liberating the settlement of Fortitude in the early hours of the 29th of December. Likely recognizing their inevitable defeat, the socialist toasters would soon redeploy the
Jet Brigade to Tarsh to stymie the
S.E.A.F. counteroffensive.
After half a day of fighting, the
Jet Brigade would surprisingly abandon its position on Tarsh to attack Curia. There are many theories as to why they did this, though the most commonly accepted one was that the
Jet Brigade was attempting to break out of what the toasters realized was a losing battle. Although the battle was close, by the 30th of December the
Jet Brigade was once more defeated on the moon of Curia, with the
Helldivers then refocusing their efforts back towards Tarsh.

Shortly thereafter, the
Super Earth Armed Forces resumed their offensive on Tarsh, which had been significantly curtailed between 21:00 SEST on the 29th of December and 14:00 SEST on 30th of December due to the actions of the
Automaton occupation forces stationed on the planet. By 17:00 SEST on the same day, the
Federation's ground forces had established complete territorial control over nearly 1/5 of the planet's surface. As of the same time, no units of the Jet Brigade had been spotted on the planet after their defeat in another battle for Curia, which significantly simplified the conditions of warfare for the Super Earth military.
A scout Helldiver destroys a patrol of Automatons using dynamite and a plasma rifle. December 30th, 2185.
The battle continued for several days, causing many SEAF soldiers (even
Helldivers) to spend New Year's Eve fighting on the planet, regaining control of just over 80% of the planet by the 1st of January, 2186. The liberation campaign continued for more than half a day and ended at approximately 15:30 SEST on the 1st of January with the victory of Super Earth and the complete expulsion of all Automaton armed forces from the Marspira Sector.
