Spore Burst Warrior

The Spore Burst Warrior is a special mutation of the Warrior, caused by the Terminids' prolonged exposure to The Gloom, causing them to gain a white carapace with red, flesh-like undertones. They appear to have some kind of fungus growing from their head and the tips of their legs. They can also now appear in larger groups, capable of overwhelming even the most skilled and alert Helldivers.

However, their ability to explode into spores on death also gives them a massive downside, as they appear to have weaker armor and less durability. If one blows up in a swarm of smaller Spore Burst Scavengers, it will set off a chain reaction, killing everything in the radius, including some Helldivers. Their ability to explode into spores on death may assist in their rapid spread across the eastern side of the galaxy.

They are still slow and have not gained any attack boosts or speed increases, and still pose little a threat, except for when you are distracted by bigger threats.

In addition to its aggressive nature, they have gained the ability to release clouds of gas upon death, which is detrimental to Helldivers around it.

Tactics[]

Spore Warriors require Helldivers to dispatch them before they can close the distance, as the gas cloud they release will slow down and damage them in close-range. The damage is negligible, but multiple instances of them can be lethal, and the debilitating slow is the most lethal effect when confronted by multiple Terminids.
They take after standard Warriors, rather than Alpha-type Warriors. However, they are still capable of going into berserker mode upon their heads being destroyed, which may be harder to dodge in some cases if one is debilitated by their gas cloud upon their final moments. However, this is unlikely as they will most likely explode before they go into berserk mode.
The SG-8 Punisher is effective at blowing off their legs and beheading them, quickly killing them before they can close the distance.
