~ Armory Description |
The SG-22 Bushwhacker is a triple-barreled, break-action sawed-off shotgun sidearm.
It appears to be a common civilian break-action shotgun, with the barrel and stock sawn-off to give it a pistol's profile, then given a custom handguard to give it a front sight, side-mounted shell rack, and a thicker profile to make it easier to hold.
It holds three shells and features a firing mode to shoot all loaded shells at once. Promising extreme damage at the cost of ammunition economy with it only having 33 total shells if you count the three shells that are loaded this yielding a total damage of 13365 if you hit every shot.
The low ammo count also means that the triple barrel firing mode, while dishing out a massive 1215 damage shot can only be used eleven times before you are out of ammo. This renders the triple barrel firing mode more or less reserved for calculated shots to weak spots such as heatsinks or other high priority targets like Stalkers.
Role:[]
The SG-22 is overall a very capable sidearm and while being a shotgun is still accurate up to 50 meters with a single shell and can stay effective up to 80 meters with the triple barrel firing mode. It is especially useful for dealing with stronger targets such as Hulks and Devastators where the triple shot can be used to deal quick massive damage.
Gameplay Tips[]
- The weapon is basically a portable SG-8 Punisher, dealing the same damage. It is capable of disposing of fodder enemies with a single center-mass shot and bigger fodder with a headshot.
- What sets it apart however, is the triple-shot function that gives it the absolute highest single-shot damage of any player-carried weapon. It is capable of decapitating a Brood Commander with a single headshot, and is capable of stopping a Stalker dead in its tracks if they are shot point-blank in the body.
- The triple-shot is particularly effective against heavy units with lightly-armored weakpoints, like hulks or chargers, as it's high alpha-strike damage is reliably capable of ensuring a kill.
- It is generally very effective against Terminids due to its power at close-range. It is less effective against Automatons since most of them fight from a distance, but still finds use as a close defense against Berserkers and Troopers with blades.
- It is advised to aim with the bulk of the weapon, instead of the iron sights, as the irons are redundant for a weapon meant to be used at point-blank range.
Trivia[]
- The Bushwacker appears to be loosely based on the Chiappa triple threat, albeit with a larger metallic handguard, a significantly shorter barrel and a shell holder attached.
