| “ | A desert planet prone to unpredictable and dangerous sand twisters. | „ |
| ~ Official Description |
Polaris Prime is one of the five planets that reside within the Farsight Sector. It has been the objective of 2 Major Orders, being one of three planets never take by an enemy faction on the Farsight Sector, this planet have been attacked by the
Illuminate and the
Terminids, being one of the few planets that have this characteristic.
Topography[]
A desert covering the entire planet is all that's visible, with no visible water sources or bodies of water. Life on this planet is difficult, but
Super Earth has colonized it. There are massive sand dunes as far as the eye can see, which are the planet's only remaining feature. Similar to Hydrobius and Canopus.
History[]
Second Galactic War[]
Return of the Illuminate[]
Polaris Prime was a peaceful frontier colony in the southern galactic rim, having been colonized long after the First Galactic War but without much other events to really highlight since. However, things weren't fated to remain in this state of calm stillness for much longer.
On January 8th, 2185, the
Illuminate launched an assault onto Polaris, hours after their prior raid at Khandark came to an end. With the Helldivers strained and stretched between the Terminid assaults at Acamar IV and Terrek, and the resurgence of the Automatons at Matar Bay after their success at the Marspira Sector, a contingent would be diverted to help repel the Illuminate raid, hoping to prevent the plunder of its resources and guarantee the safety of its citizens.
The Helldivers would, regrettably, be unable to deter the Illuminate raid, leaving the planet in ruins and with many citizens abducted or killed.
Operation Farsight Breach[]
Polaris Prime had been left in ruins. Following the chaos caused by the Illuminate raid, reparations would be slow before Polaris Prime was dragged into the Second Galactic War in full. Fueled by an increase of spores originating from the gloom,
Terminids began spreading on the worlds of Pherkad Secundus and Grand Errant. Following the fall of Pherkad on January 11th, Polaris would see its first Terminid onslaught ever. High Command had ordered for the Helldivers to repel all the Terminid assaults they could, while also designating Polaris Prime and Fenrir III as priority targets to be protected. As such, once the Terminids at Pherkad began attacking Polaris Prime, the main fleet of Helldivers immediately diverted towards it, hoping to slow down the Terminid assault while a smaller contingent focused on securing Erata Prime.
After 19 hours of fighting, the Helldivers were able to repel the Terminid onslaught on Polaris, with Erata Prime falling just minutes after the Helldivers had defended Polaris. With more Terminid assaults likely in the Farsight Sector, the damage had been mitigated for now. Polaris' infrastructure, however, would be in ruins, and Fenrir III was now threatened by both Erata Prime and the gloom-infested Hellmire.
Operation Big Brother[]
War would return to Polaris on morning of November 16th, when a
Terminids outbreak from nearby Pherkad Secundus would erupt amongst the planets dunes. While most of the
Helldivers focus was aimed at other frontlines, around 20% of the corps would still rally for its defense, emboldened by the recent victory on Estanu.

Trivia[]
