A blazing-hot desert planet, its rocky mesas are the sole interruptions to the endless sea of dunes.
~ Official Description

Phact Bay is one of the six planets that reside within the Jin Xi Sector.

History[]

Second Galactic War[]

Supercolony Spore Outbreak[]

After the failure of the TCS on April 30th the Meridia Supercolony began to output massive amounts of interstellar spores. Outbreaks began across the Eastern Front, including in the Jin Xi Sector. Acamar IV fell on the 7th of May. Following this, the Terminids would almost immediately afterward attack Pandion-XXIV which fell on the 8th of May. Phact Bay would come under attack on the 10th, and with most Super Destroyers being distracted elsewhere, fell with little resistance.

Operation Destiny Manifested[]

Sporadic fighting would continue on Phact Bay, with little progress being made by the Helldivers, this was until Operation Destiny Manifested was launched on the 4th of June. Turing was liberated, followed by Erata Prime then Acamar IV. This left just Phact Bay, which was liberated on June 7th, completing Operation Destiny Manifested. With this, the Terminid foothold in Jin Xi Sector would be eliminated. Bringing managed democracy and freedom once more to all planets in Jin Xi Sector.

Operation Jin Xi - Falstaff Lockdown[]

The liberty obtained for Phact Bay would not last for long. Due to the massive loss of lives during Operation Enduring Peace, the Helldivers had to constantly shift back and forth between fronts, often losing progress in one front to regain it in another. While the Helldivers were occupied in the Automaton Front amidst its expansion into the Trigon and Xzar Sectors, the Terminids would launch a craven assault in the evening of June 23rd, overwhelming its defenses and occupying it for 5 days.

Once the Helldivers managed to repel the robotic menace, they would return en masse to the rescue of the Jin Xi and Falstaff sectors, with Phact Bay's liberation now being part of the objectives of the major order issued by the Super Earth High Command. As such, Phact Bay would be liberated by June 28th, with the Helldivers managing to liberate the planet and successfully repel a surprise attack coming in from nearby Gatria, which had fallen to a spontaneous Terminid outbreak.

Operation Overrun[]

Phact Bay would remain thriving in freedom ever since, its colonist beginning to undertake repairs and resettlement of the desert planet once more, while the war continued on in the neighboring sectors. However, this peace would not last for very long. From June to August, partly thanks to Pandion-XXIV also remaining free, Phact Bay would remain untouched by the war until, on September 1st, 2184, it would be assaulted by Terminids coming from the recently lost Pandion XXIV, almost right after the colonial overseer had restored its FTL supply lines with Gar Haren and Partion, a planet in the Sten Sector that had been lost during the initial Terminid outbreak in February 2184.

With the Gloom being found to be sending an augmented Terminid outbreak onto the Jin Xi Sector, Super Earth High Command would issue a major order calling for the Helldivers to retain control of Phact Bay, Gatria and Gar Haren while preventing any further spread of Terminid infestation.

Phact Bay's defense would manage to repel the incoming Terminid forces by September 3rd, shortly after Gatria's defense concluded. However, their newly opened front with the Sten Sector, through neighboring Partion, would show it an ugly surprise.

Partion, alongside all the other planets in the Sten Sector, had been lost during the initial Terminid outbreak of February 2184, which left whatever Terminid activities ocurred inside unable to be monitored by SEAF Reconnaissance Satellites. Even then, nothing could prepare Phact Bay for what would occur next. In the morning of September 4th, with Gatria already defending against the second biggest Terminid superonslaught ever, Phact Bay would be attacked by a massive Terminid force, only smaller than Gatria's assaulting brood by mere quirk of the numbers but still being the third biggest Terminid force ever faced by Super Earth, behind the ones encountered at Gatria and Socorro III earlier in August.

Phact Bay would manage to successfully repel the Terminid Superonslaught. However, the Terminids at Partion then sent a second assault towards Phact Bay shortly after. This second assault would not be very notable but was still pretty intense, as Phact Bay had to be left slightly less guarded in order to help Gatria repel a second consecutive Terminid Superonslaught. Nevertheless, the defenses at Phact Bay held up, repelling the second attack and allowing a line of attack into Partion while also granting the Helldivers victory in their operation.

Operation Alcubierre-II[]

However, the colonists at Phact Bay were unable to enjoy their recently gained freedom. Less than a couple weeks after the re-liberation of their planet, the Terminids at Partion sent an attack onto Phact Bay. After holding out for 2 days with what little defenses they could arrange, Phact Bay fell to Terminid control on September 28th. Then, a day later, the Terminids went on to sent an assault from Phact Bay to Darius II by forcefully creating new FTL Supply Lines into the planet.

Operation Adamant Resolve[]

Phact Bay would remain under Terminid control for a whole month, mainly due to other operations taking priority over Phact Bay's liberation. However, slowly but surely, progress would be made, as the Helldivers would dive into Phact Bay whenever no objectives needed to be progressed. A bulk of the progress towards Phact Bay's liberation would be made during Liberty Day, with the only thing stopping it being the defense of Gatria nearby.

By October 29th, after an entire month of horrendous attrition, Phact Bay would be finally liberated, just in time to allow the Helldivers back into Pandion-XXIV and allowing them to continue with the major order's objectives.

Operation Bughammer[]

Phact Bay would remain free of Terminid control ever since its liberation on October 29th. However, it would not remain free of the ever-present threat of the Terminid Horde. Following the disaster at the Terminid Research Preserve on November 12th, Pandion-XXIV would fall immediately to the Terminids, leaving Phact Bay exposed to further attacks.

This threat would build up slowly over the remainder of the month until, on December 11th, Phact Bay would fall under a mammoth assault from both Pandion and Partion, as the Terminids began offensive in the midst of new construction projects taking place at Achernar Secundus. With Phact Bay having such a direct route towards a project of such importance, the Helldivers deployed en masse, hoping to form a security belt around Achernar in hopes of preventing any and all interruptions to the multi-trillion Super Credit venture between AM Defense and the government of Super Earth.

Despite the massive assault being noted as a high-end level 24 invasion, the Helldivers would impressively and swiftly eradicate the Terminid threat after nearly a day of fighting. Phact Bay would enjoy the embrace of liberty once more, standing tall against the fascist Terminid threat.

Operation Impending Gloom[]

Phact Bay stood as a beacon of liberty against all the tyranny around it. Following the shocking, unjustified return of the Illuminate in the galactic south, Super Earth was now forced into a three-front war in which they had to divert many resources into repelling the constant squid hit-and-run assaults, which left both Terminid and Automaton fronts undermanned. Ironically, Phact Bay would somehow go untouched for quite some time, instead watching as its neighbors Gatria and Gar Haren both fell to the bugs during December 2184, and then watching on as the Terminids spread their vile infestation toward the previously untouched Farsight Sector bordering the Jin Xi Sector in January 2185.

However, this peace would not go unnoticed by Super Earth's vile enemies. Toward the end of January, the Helldivers faced orders to secure samples from the gloom-adjacent planets of Erata Prime and Gacrux while also holding the Center of Science at Fenrir III. While already completing their sample collection efforts and having repelled one assault on Fenrir III with another attack by the bugs likely, the Eastern Front was still heavily manned, with 70% of the Helldiver Corps fighting on Terminid-controlled worlds.

With most of the Helldivers pushing toward liberating Erata Prime, the Terminids at Partion and Gatria sent a sizable 12 million broods toward Phact Bay on the afternoon of January 27. This attack would be sickeningly timed with a smaller, simultaneous assault of Terrek in the Orion Sector by the bugs at Bore Rock. The Helldivers would immediately deploy to both planets en masse, looking to drive back the latest series of the Terminid offensive. However, unfortunately for Phact Bay, the vast majority of Helldivers have deployed onto Terrek so far, leaving the sandy world to be undermanned with Super Earth currently projecting Phact Bay as a defeat.
