The M-105 Stalwart is a support weapon that specializes against massed hordes of lightly-armored enemies.
Role[ | ]
Acting as the game's light machine gun, the Stalwart is a sidegrade to the MG-43 Machine Gun it sacrifices damage and armor peneration for a higher rate of fire, a larger ammo pool, and the ability to reload on the move.
These qualities make it ideal for fighting Terminids, due to their general lack of armored units and requirement to be mobile as much as possible.
Gameplay Tips[ | ]
- While it lacks the penetration power of other support weapons, its also a lot more flexible than most. Compared to the other machine guns, its reasonably accurate even firing while on the move and reloads fairly quickly without having to stand still and has by far the most total ammo per magazine. All of these make it a very handy tool to mow down Terminid swarms, perhaps as a backup for a more precision-based Primary weapon.
- On the other hand, these qualities are less desirable against Automatons, who field fewer units and more armor, though it can still function somewhat effectively as a backup against melee troopers and even Berserkers closing in on the player. For the latter, its best used to shoot off their arms first.
Trivia[ | ]
- The Stalwart is based on an identically named gun from the first game. Unlike the first game, it is no longer a primary weapon, and has instead been changed to a stratagem.
- Unlike the original, which uses a bullpup design similar to the British L86 LSW, this iteration uses a conventional design, with the trigger behind the breech.
