Khandark is one of the five planets that reside within the Guang Sector.
Topography[]
The Ministry of Science's galactic topography database previously listed Khandark as a snowball planet, caught in eternal winter. However this has recently been discovered to be a mischaracterization, with the planet in actuality being a "Foggy Swamp", that is similar to Socorro III. This error has since been fixed.
History[]
Second Galactic War[]
Return of the Illuminate[]
Khandark was a peaceful planet of Super Earth at the far end of the Guang Sector. This remoteness had caused it to be shrouded in mystery as it would initially be catalogued as a frozen, arctic planet yet, when it was first colonized after the end of the First Galactic War, its first settlers quickly discovered Khandark to be a foggy, damp swamp planet instead. This error would make Khandark's colonization into a peculiar journey that would ultimately culminate in Khandark's citizens attaining enough wealth to finance the construction of urban colonies in drained clearing among the marshland.
However, amidst all these oddities, one stared in anger from deep within space. The 
Illuminate, an alien race that had once defied humanity, had returned and planned on waging war against Freedom yet again. On January 8th, the Illuminate sent out an invasion force onto the planet's surface. The Helldivers, being occupied with security operations at the Automaton Front, would only be able to dispatch a contingent to attempt to manage the situation.
Unfortunately, the Illuminate would manage to escape the Helldivers' righteous fist. The lack of manpower would prove to be the decisive factor in the fight against the Illuminate and ultimately prevented them from successfully destroying the invasion fleet.
Operation Democracy Delivered[]
Khandark would be left in ruins after its first invasion, with many families separated or completely wiped out and settlements greatly damaged, with some even having been totally reduced to rubble. Yet, it would appear that the Illuminate hadn't been sated with their previous plunders and as such, on January 23rd, they sent a second invasion fleet towards Khandark. With the Helldivers having relocated back to contain the Terminids after the failure of Operation Democracy Delivered, only a contingent would be provided to aid in Khandark's defense. Consequently, the Illuminate wouldn't be stopped and would escape after 12 hours of pillaging the planet.

- October 27th, 2185: FTL Line to Botein is re-established, plus new FTL Lines to Asperoth Prime, Bellatrix, and Skat Bay are created.
