Kerth Secundus is one of the seven planets in the Rictus Sector.

Kerth Secundus was an average colony far off in the Southern Galactic Rim, having been settled at some point after the First Galactic War. It's colorful valleys and its perennial, coniferous trees, alongside is permanently chilly yet habitable climate and its benefitial location in the galactic map would essentially pave Kerth's way towards prosperity.
Kerth's colonists were able to rapidly accumulate wealth, and said wealth quickly manifested into urbanized settlements sprawling up all across the planet, as apartment blocs were built to house the ever growing worker population, while streets were paved, water pipes installed, power supplies connected, waste management handled and most important of all, green grass lawns mowed and well kept so that the Super Earth Flags and Helldiver memorials looked their best when pitched atop of them.

Kerth Secundus is a planet blessed by Liberty like very few others. However, an old foe from decades past stared from far within the abyssal depths of space. The
Illuminate, boiling in pagan anger and xenophobic envy of Super Earth's natural attraction of such fortunes, would lunge at Kerth Secundus decided to rip those blessings for themselves.
On December 17th, amidst a series of Illuminate raids across the southern sectors of the galaxy, Kerth Secundus would be suddenly and deliberately attacked by Illuminate invasion fleets. Having succeeded at Calypso and Bellatrix days prior, the Helldivers were decided to stop this odious harassment of their compatriots by the Squids, and as such, deployed en masse onto Kerth. However, they would be forced to split once more, as the Illuminate were also simultaneously invading Valmox with the use of their nefarious teleportation technology.
After 7 hours of fighting, the Helldivers were successful and repelled the Illuminate raid, preventing the further plundering of its resources and the further destruction of the products of its hard labor.
Operation Thrice is Nice[]
Kerth would see several more raid attacks by the
Illuminate until April 2185. The constant invasions would see its resources heavily depleted, with infrastructure in ruins and countless colonists being converted into more Cannon fodder. Though the
Helldivers would do their best to stem the tide of constant Squ'ith tyranny, their efforts were always stymied by the surging infestation of the
Terminids alongside the rampant offensives by the
Automatons in March and April 2185.
Following the defeat of the
Illuminate at the Battle of Super Earth, the surviving Squ'ith, along with the rest of their reserves, would begin to re-establish their former empire of a century ago in the Galactic South. Particularly, the Illuminate would gain strongholds in the Hanzo, Ferris, and Omega Sectors as they took over the Mega Cities on Alairt III and Alamak VII and reverse-engineered them into citadels of xeno-structures and tyranny. Though the
Helldivers launched a tenacious attempt to reclaim these fallen lands, their efforts would fall in vain as the Illuminate would just barely hang onto Alairt III in a crushing blow.
Since those efforts, the
Illuminate would only become further emboldened and began to push to the north. The Rictus Sector would finally come under threat as the Illuminate would launch takeovers of Genesis Prime and Oasis, putting them ever-so-closer to Kerth Secundus' beautiful rolling hills. At the eastern edge of the Rictus Sector, the Squ'ith would then invade Valmox on July 27, 2185, with the planet falling by the next day. With every planet that fell to the tide of tyranny, Kerth's safety was truly under duress.
In late August 2185,
Super Earth would come under new levels of grave danger. On August 19, moments after success from the
Helldivers in Operation Lost World, the
Terminids launched a brazen attack, with Erata Prime, Fenrir III, Turing, and Achernar Secundus coming under massive onslaughts. All Helldivers were ordered to the defense of these worlds and were tasked with killing 6,000,000,000 Terminids to halt their advance. That wouldn't be all, however, as the
Automatons would join the offensive on August 21 by launching 3 massive attacks of their own on Charon Prime, Julheim, and Mort. New orders were issued to kill 1,500,000,000 Automatons, and the Helldivers were now tasked with holding 2 fronts at once.
For the Galactic South, there was no doubt in the minds of High Command that the
Illuminate would seek to join in on the ongoing enemy offensive. Sure enough, a day after the Automaton attacks began, the Illuminate would send two insurmountable invasion fleets toward Parsh and Grafmere in a dual assault. As expected, High Command now ordered the
Helldivers, already stretched massively thin, to hold all 3 fronts simultaneously and kill 1,000,000,000 Illuminate combatants to halt their advance.
During the first days of the new
Illuminate operations, the
Helldivers had largely neglected the attacks on Grafmere and Parsh, choosing to focus on the gambit attempt at Charbal-VII while also holding the
Terminids back on Veld. With Grafmere and Parsh slated to fall, the
Illuminate would expand their offensive elsewhere, invading Myrium and Adhara with their own massive invasion fleets. Amidst the carnage in the South, the
Automatons would intensify their offensive rapidly as the rebuilt Automaton
Jet Brigade unleashed a massive onslaught on Curia. As if this wave of rampant tyranny wasn't enough, just hours before Grafmere, Parsh, and Curia were on the brink of collapse, the rebuilt Automaton
Incineration Corps resurfaced and began the two largest attacks of the entire 3-way offensive, with 2 divisions of 45 invasion fleets making planet fall on Tarsh and Bekvam III.
The Federation was in shambles. The
Terminids had taken over the
Xenoentomology Centre on Turing and the
Factory Hub on Achernar Secundus. The
Automatons were advancing rapidly in the Marspira and Nanos Sectors with both of their special divisions active. The
Illuminate, left largely unchecked so far, had stomped through Grafmere and Parsh with ease. Now, with both planets under their control, it seemed that Kerth's longstanding peace was set to end brutally. Sure enough, the
Illuminate on Grafmere would continue the offensive, and 30 invasion fleets made it to Kerth's atmosphere by the late morning of August 24.
Once again, the
Helldivers were stretched to the breaking point. The Automaton
Jet Brigade had completed the takeover of Curia and advanced onto Fenmire. The
Illuminate front would see its own crisis continue, as the Squ'ith had made it all the way to the Super Earth-bordering Cancri Sector, and began an assault on Effluvia. With every appendage of tyranny working against
Super Earth, Kerth had unfortunately fallen out of the limelight, and with whatever few Helldivers on the ground, they simply would not be able to take on the massive fleet as they stomped through the cities of Hildoara Central and Scholar's Moor. Kerth, unfortunately, was doomed.
By August 26, the final nails in the coffin were hammered in by further
Illuminate attacks on Seyshel Beach and Mog. As such, Kerth Secundus fell to the xenophobic invaders by the late morning, and with the subsequent takeover of Seyshel Beach by August 28, Kerth Secundus was locked away from the FTL network, and the light of liberty, for good.
