Iro is one of the seven planets that reside within the Rictus Sector.

Second Galactic War[]
Return of the Illuminate[]
Iro had been, for most of its recorded history, a peaceful planet colony of Super Earth. Having been settled after the First Galactic War, Iro was a planet that was notoriously difficult to inhabit due to the vast expanses of unstable mud and the noticeable lack of stable, fertile soil. Yet despite all of the difficulties, the colonists of Iro would manage to succeed, eventually acquiring enough wealth to build urbanized colonies. However, an old enemy stared from within the depths of space.
The 
Illuminate, a race of aliens that had once tried and failed to defy humanity, had returned from their exile and was now waging war against Managed Democracy once more. On December 28th, Iro would fall prey to an Illuminate raid, following a string of Illuminate raids in the Rictus Sector and other colonies in the Southern Galactic Rim.
The Helldivers, having orders to repel all Illuminate raids while killing as many Voteless and Illuminate Harvesters as they could, would immediately deploy onto Iro. Decided to avenge the recent raid at Julheim and bolstered by their previous victory at Volterra, the Helldivers deployed en masse onto the planet.
The Helldivers would successfully repel the raid at Iro, temporarily deterring the alien invaders and keeping the colonists at Iro safe yet on edge, as the Illuminate continued to raid the neighboring sectors in pursuit of their then unknown goals.
For 2 weeks, Iro remained at an armed peace before being attacked once again after the new year. On January 5th, 2185, Iro would be attacked a second time by the Illuminate. However, with the Helldivers having now been driven away towards the Marspira Sector, Iro would have to contend with the invasion with only a small Helldiver contingent left behind to assist in its defense.

- February 8th, 2184: Iro is connected by FTL to Grafmere and Valmox.
- June 13th, 2184: FTL lines to Grafmere and Valmox are destroyed.
- June 17th, 2185: FTL lines to Grafmere and Valmox are re-established, plus a new line to New Stockholm.
