Rank is a measure of a Helldiver's experience in the field. After gaining the required amount of experience from missions on enemy planets, a Helldiver will advance in rank, possibly unlocking new Weapons, Perks or Armor. Each promotion grants a free research point.
In the Chinese localisation of Helldivers, the skull imagery has been altered. All of the rank icons with a skull in their design have had it replaced with a Helldiver's helmet.
