Stratagem Code[]

Players must enter the following sequence, using the controller d‑pad, in order to call down this Stratagem up to three times per mission (five if upgraded):

Unlock Requirement[]

The Distractor Beacon is granted to the player as a reward for completing all the missions on its associated planet (typically a low level planet - difficulty 1 to 3).

Mk1		Basic variant, no upgrades.
Mk2	1	An upgraded power source improves the active time.
Mk3	2	Upgraded supply capabilities allow more uses per mission (number of uses increased from 3 to 5).

Notes[]

The Distractor Beacon concept bears a striking resemblance to the "Thumper" devices used to attract native sandworms in Frank Herbert's science fiction series Dune.

The Distractor Beacon Stratagem was rebalanced in Patch 1.04. It now has a smaller area in which it attracts enemy patrols.
