Return of the Illuminate[]
Elysian Meadows was a peaceful colony of Super Earth that resided in the southern sectors of the Milky Way, which spared it much of the horrors of the Second Galactic War. Much like other planets around it, such as Calypso and Bellatrix, the colonists at Elysian Meadows would first struggle but then, as they became more accustomed to their environment, they began to find success and prosperity until they managed to accumulate enough wealth to build urbanized settlements on which to house its ever-growing population. However, the colonists at Elysian Meadows were being stalked from within the endless depths of space.
The 
Illuminate, an ancient foe of Super Earth that had been defeated once during the First Galactic War, had now returned and was seeking revenge. On December 21st, the Illuminate would send a raid onto the planet, amidst a major order centered on the Meridian Singularity. The Helldivers that could were immediately deployed onto Elysian Meadows, while the bulk of the force focused on holding the line at Fenrir III and Erata Prime.
Despite their best efforts, the Helldivers would be unable to repel the raid on Elysian Meadows, which left the planet in ruins. However, the invaders were seemingly not done. Following more raids that continued after the new year, the Illuminate sent another attack onto Elysian Meadows on January 10th, 2185. The Helldivers, having now been ordered to repel Terminid outbreaks in the Farsight Sector, would only be able to dispatch a small contingent to deal with the second raid.

Trivia[]
Elysian Meadows is a reference to the Elysian Fields or Elysian Plains, which is a conception of the afterlife that developed over time and was maintained by some Greek religious and philosophical sects and cults. It was initially separated from the Greek underworld – the realm of Hades. Only mortals related to the gods and other heroes could be admitted past the river Styx. Later, the conception of who could enter was expanded to include those chosen by the gods, the righteous, and the heroic. They would remain at the Elysian Fields after death, to live a blessed and happy afterlife, and indulge in whatever they had enjoyed in life.
The name Elysian Meadows suggests that the planet is quite pleasant and implies that it is a location where many veteran SEAF and Helldivers have retired to after completing service and are exceptionally democratic individuals.
