Gameplay Tips[]
- The Patriot's minigun is a highly lethal weapon against unarmored or lightly armored enemies such as Hunters or Troopers, but can also be used to damage critical components of enemies such as the vents on the back of a Tank.
- The Patriot's missiles are very effective at eradicating bug-nests, as one well placed missile can close one. However, it can also be used to dispose of Medium Armored enemies such as Berserkers, while heavily armored foes such as Annihilator Tanks are more resilient towards the missiles.
- While capable of closing bug holes, one does need to ensure a proper angle is achieved first, and it is slightly difficult to change such a thing from a distance. Likewise, this can also destroy Bot Fabricators as well. The missile is actually quite bad at taking out smaller targets, due to the precision needed to land a clean hit. However, the machine gun on its right is extremely good at dispatching Medium Armored foes as well.
- A single missile shot can kill a Charger if shot at the head, otherwise two shots are needed. It should be noted that a head-on rush from a Charger will damage the suit. Hulks will take two shoots to the “head” to destroy, and one shot to the vent with the missiles. Bile Titans can be killed as well with two shots to the “nose”, otherwise around 5 missiles are needed to deal with 1 Bile Titan. Likewise, this can easily dispatch any Tank in the same manner, except one has to aim for the Turret instead. Overall, this suit is quite effective regardless of who it is fighting.
- You can spare ammo for both the missile launcher and minigun when you are only fighting small and low-ranking enemies such as Scavengers or Troopers, as the Patriot is capable of simply trampling these types of foes thanks to its size and weight.
- Even with its ammo reserves depleted, the Patriot can be parked in a tactically advantageous position as an obstacle to approaching enemies, such as the ever irritating Charger which can be stunned when ramming into a parked Patriot or even be killed by the ensuing explosion. The explosion, though, is not that large and does not always kill larger targets.
- The Patriot also comes with a melee attack in the form a frontal stomp, which is powerful enough to one-shot fodder enemies and even deal damage against certain heavy enemies, like Chargers. In a last-ditch effort, the Patriot can be used as a stompy battering ram against foes and can be made more effective with EMS fields to hold down enemies in-place.
- The Patriot is called in by a Pelican dropship which will use its nose-mounted autocannon to engage nearby enemies.
- The Patriot's weapon modules can be destroyed separately, similar to modular damage that can be inflicted on Devastators and other heavies. The user's HUD will reflect the loss of the module.
Notes[]
- When originally revealed in the Report for Duty trailer, the EXO-45 was instead called EXO-44 Walker Exosuit MK3. In-game, Helldivers also still refer to the EXO-45 as a Walker when called-in.
