Gameplay Tips[]
- The AT-12 is capable of "anti-tank"-level penetration, it is capable of reliably engaging every type of enemy on the field, and can destroy structures that are destructible with portable rockets. It also has a small 6m AoE that makes it reasonably effective against groups of chaff, but ammo-inefficient at dealing with them.
- It comes with a fixed 30-round magazine. This cannot be reloaded and the turret will automatically retreat back into the hellpod once all rounds are expended.
- The AT-12 is very accurate, it is capable of sniping targets from as far as 300m away and beyond, plus it's decent rate of fire and stabilization allows it to gun down large targets with ease at these ranges. This makes it very good at taking out bases and superheavies from extreme distances, provided you can find a good vantage point to set it up on.
- Due to it's rapid cooldown, it's use is not very restrictive.
- Consequently, it has a very slow traverse speed. It cannot rapidly deal with threats behind or beside it. Ensure one's perimeter is clear before setting it up as one will have to dismount to deal with attacks from the sides or rear.
- Alternatively, have one teammate spot and cover you. If this is not available, having a nearby machine gun sentry helps in warding off chaff and at the very least, act as an early-warning system.
- When requested, the gun will deploy in the same direction the helldiver is facing. If the gun needs to be used immediately, it is recommended to call in the stratagem while facing in the direction it needs to shoot at immediately to negate the gun's slow turn speed.
- The mechanism used to fix the barrel to the receiver is very strong, strong enough to send a helldiver flying as the barrel flips into postion. It is also recommended not to stand on the hellpod while the cannon is assembling itself.
- The AT-12 does not offer any protection to the user while they are spotting for it and are completely vulnerable to enemy retaliation during this time. Using a Shield Backpack is recommended, for added survivability when using the emplacement while under fire.
- If one can afford the stratagem slot, the FX-12 Shield Generator Relay is another great partner for it as it allows for a greater level of damage to be negated.
- The weapon works best against Automatons for hunting their heavy units and sniping their bases from a great distance, especially their fortresses. It sees equally-decent results against the Illuminate for hunting their Harvesters and shooting down their Elevated Overseers.
