A blazing-hot desert planet, its rocky mesas are the sole interruptions to the endless sea of dunes.
~ Official Description

Choohe is one of the four planets that reside within the Lacaille Sector. Choohe is the gateway to Matar Bay and beyond, with the securing of the planet being vital to open a frontline into Aurora Bay and, by extension, the Valdis Sector. Since The Reclamation by the Automatons in April 2184, Choohe has mostly remained under Automaton control except for a brief period of freedom in December 2184.

It was on this planet when, in October 2184, the Jet Brigade would first amass and be spotted.

Topography[]

Choohe's landscape is typical of a desert planet on the outer fringes of Federation space, comparable to similar planets like Durgen. Blazingly-hot, its rocky mesas are the sole interruptions to the endless sea of dunes which cover it's entire surface. Whilst they usually last only a few minutes, Choohe's massive sandstorms kick up large amounts of blinding, choking sand which obscures the vision of man and machine alike. Blinding local SEAF and Helldiver forces whilst also confusing the sensors of the invading Automatons.

The Socialist War Machines have taken advantage of Mesa formations to build their bases on high ground with clear lines of sight. However these same rocky formations also provide much needed cover for assaulting Helldivers.

The only true life to be found on this sand trap planet were the small but hardy verity of Desert scrub and the just as hardy human colonists of Super Earth, who were all massacred by the socialist machines in their bio-processors.

Ever since its conquest, the robotic scourge has turned this planet into an important foundry from which they launch their nefarious war machines onto the galaxy, the Jet Brigade standing as the most hideous of them all.

History[]

Special Military Operations[]

Automaton Invasion of Cyberstan[]

By April 2184, Choohe was just another desert planet colony of Super Earth like many others across the Federation, with nothing worthy of note in its record. However, this peace would be quickly shattered by a previously unseen foe.

Despite a valiant resistance, SEAF forces were defeated and ultimately forced to abandon the planet during the early phases of Enduring Bulwark. The planet's fall opened up FTL lanes to Marfark and Menkent, making it's loss all that much harder to bare.

Operation Legitimate Undertaking[]

Yet despite the Automaton's unjust and brutal occupation, the loyalty and bravery of Super Earth's surviving citizens shined through. Despite being trapped on Choohe, they were able to test a new Fortification System, vital to the survival of the federation: MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines. These mines are designed to destroy heavily armored vehicles such as walkers and tanks, something desperately needed halt the Automaton's armored spearhead. However with Automaton's closing in on the last survivor enclaves of both Choohe and Penta, time is running out for surviving personnel and equipment for both planets.

Penta would be liberated first, securing it's stores of caustic chemicals and experimental air-burst rocket launchers. Unfortunately the Automatons, in their calculated oppression and hardwired avarice, have stymied our valient efforts to liberate Choohe. The loss of the indispensable explosives on the planet will mean significant delays to the production of Anti-Tank Mines. The explosive technicians on Choohe have almost certainly been torn to pieces by the vicious blades of the Automatons. All will agree that every possible resource was directed towards their salvation. Their sacrifice is hereby honored.

Second Galactic War[]

Operation Jet Brigade[]

Choohe would remain under Automaton occupation ever since its failed liberation in April, as the robots used its location to pivot westward, flanking the Menkent line and managing to expand all the way to Vandalon IV before being split in two and severely defeated during Operation Andromeda in July 2184. With this operation, Choohe would find itself back on the frontlines of combat. However, its months under Automaton occupation had rendered it into a horrid foundry of mechanized tyranny, with the Automatons having heavily fortified the planet, which made it very difficult to liberate it.

However, this foundry of terror would not show its nefarious tricks until October when the Automatons unleashed their new abominations onto the galaxy: The Jet Brigade, a hideous metallic chimera force made out of stolen SEAF jet packs and plundered metal from across their odious fiefs, welded together with the suffering of all the innocent, oppressed human colonists beneath their iron foot.

This horrendous enemy force would go on to violently reconquer Matar Bay and, after that, Martale, killing many righteous Helldivers before they were finally stopped at the heroic defense at Marfark on October 22nd.

Operation Jetclipper[]

Following the apparition of the Jet Brigade, Choohe remained a target of interest for Super Earth Tactical Command, as many in the Helldiver Corps believed that Choohe, being the staging ground from where the Jet Brigade first appeared, was directly linked to the factories at which the Jet Brigade units were being assembled by the socialists.

Following this hunch, Super Earth High Command would take a bold risk and issued a major order, tasking the Helldivers with liberating Choohe and killing 150,000,000 Automatons, as they believed that there could be intel hidden in any of the CPUs of any Automaton, meaning that it was statistically probable that they would find clues regarding the Jet Brigade's factories once they managed to find this figurative needle in the robotic hay stack.

However, things would soon take an interesting turn as, within a day of Choohe capturing Matar Bay and, therefore, preventing any access to the SEAF, the Helldivers voted Choohe as the next DSS Target Planet, upon which it would cast an Orbital Blockade, marking the first instance in which the DSS was not accompanied by the Helldiver Corps.

The only company that the DSS would get would be a stranded Helldiver force of 629 Super Destroyers. While their efforts would not accomplish much progress towards Choohe's liberation, their bravery in the face of insurmountable odds is nothing but exemplary of the ways of Super Earth.

The DSS would leave Choohe, going back to Matar Bay to help with liberation efforts.

The real fighting would begin on December 2nd, after Matar Bay was liberated. The Helldivers would deploy en masse, deploying up to 63% of the entire corps at the time, with up to 26,000 Super Destroyers in orbit. Despite this, progress on Choohe was slow, for it had been severely reinforced by the Automatons during the many months it spent under their occupation. Combined with rogue platoons of Helldivers diverting towards other, non-essential planets, the campaign for Choohe looked increasingly grim as time wore on.

Operation Jetclipper would be regarded as a failure, as Choohe was only at 85% liberated at the deadline's expiration. With the Major Order over, Helldivers would slowly redeploy to other planets, until a Terminid attack on Terrek on late afternoon on December 4th, drained the remaining forces for defense. According to Ministry of Defense statistics, Liberation of Choohe was abandoned at around 90%, as remaining garrison was not able to stop the automaton counterattack. Yet there remains a slither of hope still, as Helldivers begun massive in between action of communicating the importance of finishing the proper campaign.

However, despite the failure of operation Jetclipper, the Helldivers persisted on Choohe, managing to liberate it by the afternoon of December 5th, after the Automatons withdrew to Aurora Bay.

For the first time in several months, Choohe was free from the odious grip of the Automatons.

Operation Hydra's Head[]

For nearly a month, Choohe was under liberty's grace following the grueling campaign to arrest it from the metal grip of the bots. The entire Western Front would be relatively quiet in December 2184, as all Helldiver concentration would be centered on the galactic south following the shocking return of the Illuminate at Calypso. This left the robot front at a standstill, with the bots remaining deviously quiet while too few Helldivers were present on Automaton-controlled worlds to make any serious liberation efforts.

However, the bots would seek to regain their lost claims in the Lacaille Sector. They would first invade the frigid world of Lesath in late December and were successful in their capture of the planet. Then, on January 1, 2185, the Automatons at Chort Bay, Menkent and Aurora Bay sent 11 invasion fleets toward Choohe, seeking to regain full control of the planet's position to neighboring Matar Bay.

Liberty's embrace would not fall on Choohe this time. Though roughly a third of the Helldiver Corps was needed to repel the Automaton fleet, this would not materialize with the constant raid of planets by the Illuminate which forced the Corps toward the galactic south. Ultimately, the planet would fall by the next day despite a valiant yet undermanned SEAF presence on the planet. Once again, Choohe fell to the mechanical grip of the Automatons and relinked the Automaton network to Aurora Bay.

Interim (January 8, 2185 - January 9th, 2185)[]

Following the turn of the new year, Choohe would be relatively uninvolved on the frontlines of war. During the first week of January 2185, the Helldivers were ordered to clear Mastia and Tarsh with the Automatons too close to Super Earth for comfort. This left any liberation efforts on Choohe to be meager, with the planet seeing little to no action. Then, on January 8, 2185, just hours after the Helldivers completed their Major Order, the Automatons at Choohe sent 10 invasion fleets toward neighboring Matar Bay in the Andromeda Sector. The Helldivers would fail to turn up en masse to the planet with most concentrating on the re-liberation of Acamar IV to the Terminids while others focused on repelling the Illuminate threats in the galactic south. As a result, the Automatons would comfortably capture Matar Bay by the next day, which officially cut off Choohe from the FTL network as it was surrounded by Aurora Bay, Chort Bay, Matar Bay, and Menkent, all of which are still under Automaton control. Choohe remains cut off from liberty's embrace as a result, forced now to deal with the mechanical Automaton grip once again.
