Return of the Illuminate[]
Canopus was a peaceful colony in the southern galactic rim, having been colonized after the First Galactic War but without much other events to really highlight since. However, things weren't fated to remain in this state of calm stillness for much longer.
On December 25th, 2184, the 
Illuminate launched an assault onto Canopus, hours before their prior raid at Rasp came to an end. With the Helldivers having complete operational freedom after their success at the Umlaut Sector, a contingent would divert to help repel the Illuminate raid at Canopus, hoping to prevent the plunder of its resources and guarantee the safety of its citizens.
Despite their best attempts, the Helldivers lacked the manpower to successfully repel the Illuminate invaders, which allowed them to ultimately escape their punishment and leaving Canopus plundered and destroyed in the wake of the raids.
For 5 days, the colonists at Canopus mourned the loss of their fellow citizens before the nefarious Illuminate, seemingly intent of denying them any respite, attacked again. On December 30th, the Illuminate sent a second dual attack onto the southern colonies, targetting Kraz and, for a second time, Canopus. Once more, the Helldivers had to split in order to attempt to contain both raids yet, in spite of their best efforts, they could not effectively repel the invading enemies.

- February 8th, 2184: Canopus is connected by FTL to Bunda Secundus and Osupsam.
- June 13th, 2184: FTL lines to Bunda Secundus and Osupsam are destroyed.
- October 27th, 2185: FTL lines to Bunda Secundus and Osupsam are re-established. New FTL Line to Liberty Ridge is added.
