Brink-2 is one of the five planets that reside within the Tarragon Sector.
Topography[]
Similar to Genesis Prime, Gemma and Siemnot.
History[]
Second Galactic War[]
Return of the Illuminate[]
Brink-2 was, much like all the colonies in its sector, a peaceful planet colony of Super Earth. Despite being discovered during the First Galactic War, it wouldn't be until the end of the conflict when the first colonists began to arrive to the planet. Following its settlements, not many other events worthy of note would occur, while its economy boomed and allowed for the inhabitants of the planet to finance the construction of urbanized settlements.
However, this prosperity and peace would attract the attention of an old, nefarious foe long thought extinct: The
Illuminate. On January 7th, the Illuminate sent a raid onto Brink-2 mere hours after their prior success at Bellatrix. The Helldivers would have to immediately divert a contingent towards Brink-2 in order to contain the invaders and mitigate the damage as they struggled to coordinate between the three fronts while High Command worked on new orders, however they wouldn't be able to succesfully commit their full strength as they were occupied with operations against the Automatons in the Marspira Sector. This lack of manpower would ultimately prevent the Helldivers from successfully destroying the Illuminate and allowed them to escape despite suffering significant losses.
Operation Democracy Delivered[]
The Citizens of Brink had been robbed of their peace. Their homes, built over the course of generations, laid in ruins. Their families, if not entirely eradicated, were now fragmented. Many civilians had been either killed during the invasion or abducted by the Illuminate, never to be seen again. Truly, an infamy beyond forgiveness. Yet, Brink-2 would not simply be left to remain hurt and pick up the pieces. The Helldivers were determined to get back at the Illuminate for their heinous crime against the people of Brink and, on January 20th, they would find it.
Brink-2, alongside Canopus and Genesis Prime, would be attacked by an Illuminate invasion fleet in a bold triple attack undertaken by the nefarious aliens, as they attempted to redress their losses from prior battles at Rasp, Rirga Bay and Emorath. Their first mistake was assuming that they even stood a chance to pull such a boneheaded assault off. Their second mistake, and their most crucial....was to attack when the Helldivers had both orders to repel as many Illuminate invasions as possible, but also had just gotten the Democracy Space Station back, repaired and upgraded. For the first 8 hours of the invasion, the SEAF held the lines at Brink-2 while the Helldivers worked on rescuing Genesis Prime's defense. It all seemed lost, as the SEAF garrison in Brink-2 estimated that they could only last for 3 hours. They had given it their best shot at defending the planet but it seemed like it was not meant to be.
But then, Liberty would manifest its will, high up in the atmosphere. Right after Genesis Prime's invaders were sufficiently obliterated, the Helldiver fleet opted to rescue Brink-2's defense, as Canopus had already been deemed a lost cause by Helldiver Tactical Command. Soon enough, up to 50,000 Super Destroyers and the Democracy Space Station made their presence felt in Brink-2 and obliterated the despicable aliens with the use of their Heavy Ordnance.
With barely less than 2 hours before planetary defenses collapsed entirely, the Helldivers had managed to completely reverse the situation, annihilating the Illuminate invasion fleet and redeeming their previous defeat on Brink-2, bringing solace to its colonists and doing justice to all the innocents lost.
