Blistica is one of the five planets that reside within the Gellert Sector.

Similar to Menkent, Wezen, Imber and Pöpli IX
History[]
Second Galactic War[]
Operation Adamant Resolve[]
Blistica was, for most of its history since the First Galactic War, an unremarkable desertic planet, far off in the galactic fringe. For one reason or another, it was spared the horrors of the First Galactic War, since it does not appear in any records for the Gellert Sector, meaning that this planet probably wasn't able to be colonized until the end of the First Galactic War allowed Super Earth to attain the technology necessary to settle this planet.
As such, Blistica spent much of its time during the Second Galactic War forgotten by the light of Super Earth, as its remoteness and apparently lack of resources simply didn't merit the Federation's attention. But this relative freedom was also something that attracted the envy of the Federation's enemies.
After the fall of Cyberstan in April 2184, the Gellert Sector had cut off what little FTL connections it had, leaving it essentially insulated from the war, with what little colonists remained being completely unaware of the ongoing chaos and bloodshed.
However, this peace would be shattered without warning when, on October 28th, 2184, the Automatons mounted an offensive into the Gellert Sector, restablishing the downed FTL Supply lines from Yed Prior and Zefia into both this planet and its neighbor Mintoria. Due to the then-Major Order asking the Helldivers to liberate Matar Bay, coupled with efforts to liberate Pandion-XXIV and Gacrux in the Terminid front, very few Helldivers would join the defense of either Mintoria or Blistica, and the Automatons easily captured both planets by the next day. Since then, no liberation attempts have been made at either of the planets, with both remaining under the iron grip of the robots ever since.
On November 25th, 2184, Zzaniah Prime would be attacked by the Automatons, and due to the Helldivers not prioritizing the planet's defense, it would fall 2 days later, which fully locked away access to both Blistica and Mintoria, ending their liberation campaign and locking them fully in the hands of the despotic socialist Automatons.
Operation Crop Dust[]
On December 5th, 2184, orders were given to liberate Blistica, along with Mintoria as-well as Esker, all of which are locked behind enemy lines. Such mentioned planets have been identified as being rich in salt-mines, which is needed in order to rectify the shortage of chlorine and finally commence the production of MD-8 Gas Mines and its requisition to all Super Destroyers. However, like Mintoria, all of Blistica's supply lines lead to Automaton space, and Zzaniah Prime had to be liberated first in order to restart Blistica's liberation campaign and allow for its liberation. Following Zzaniah's liberation, the Automaton forces in the Gellert Sector had been sent on the run and what little had been left behind would concentrate on Blistica, preventing early liberation efforts from seeing much success.
These early delays, combined with the Helldiver Corps' focus on planets like Esker and Mintoria made it so that, by the time the main fleet finally reached Blistica, they would be unable to make progress towards its liberation in time to meet the operation deadline. While Operation Crop Dust failed, Blistica was still liberated by December 10th, successfully quashing the last remnants of the Automatons in the Gellert Sector.
Operation Good Samaritan and Operation Twin Defender[]
Since its final liberation in early December, Blistica would finally begin to recover from the atrocities committed by the bots while it remained under their control for a month. Up until March, the planet would see no action following its final liberation in 2184, while the bots of the Tanis Sector remained completely unmoved with no serious liberation efforts in the sector since October.
With all Helldiver attention to the West of Automaton space with the liberation of Martale and the massive assault launched on Meissa, the bots of Yed Prior sent 11 battalions toward Blistica to regain control of the Gellert Sector.
The battle for the fiery planet ended up heavily undermanned. With the Helldivers concentrating at Meissa, the first 6 hours of Blistica's defense would be valiant but shorthanded with the bots growing a significant advantage on the ground. Then, at around 5 AM-SEST, Chort Bay came under a heavy assault with 18 Automaton battalions being dispatched from Choohe and Penta. Blistica's already heavily weakened colonial defenses came under further strife when the bots sent yet another invasion- a mammoth 38 battalions being sent to the Deep Forge Mantle Complex on Claorell, their 4th incursion in just 22 hours. With the further strain of a new Order to either hold Claorell or delay the movement of Meridia by the
Illuminate, the hellscape planet was doomed.
Blistica fell by nightfall on Super Earth, marking the Automatons' return to the Gellert Sector and closing off Yed Prior from the FTL network.
