Barabos is one of the five planets that reside within the Marspira Sector.
Topography and Astrography[]

Similar to planets like X-45, Clasa and Caph, the geography and biosphere of Barabos bears a heavy resemblance to the rainforests of Super Earth as they were prior to their destruction during the
Illuminate Invasion, according to the
Ministry of Science. Tall, petrified mangroves and other millenary trees populate most of the planet's surface, only interrupted by the occasional lakes and rivers that may appear deceptively shallow.
The Squelching Bog of Barabos.
Indeed, it is because of this similarity that during an rainforest restoration operation launched by the
Ministry of Prosperity to preserve and conserve the natural beauty of the galaxy, they would order a minor-operation to both liberate the planet and carefully uproot and re-plant plant life from Barabos on Super Earth. A great honor for the planet undoubtedly.
Barabos is not home to any Mega Cities or facilities worthy of note. However, its surface is populated by a series of scattered urbanized settlements that house the majority of its population, as well as having a number of dwelling dotting the otherwise untouched wilderness of the swamp.
The Barabos System is a Triple Star System comprised of 3 orbiting stars of relatively similar mass. These stars can be seen from Barabos' orbit at different times of its day. Besides the planet Barabos itself and its orbiting white, rocky moon, at least one other astronomical body forms part of the Barabos System, a red gas giant. Additionally, 3 nebulas can be observed from Barabos' orbit.
History[]
Second Galactic War[]
Operation Ultrakill[]
Barabos was a peaceful, largely unimportant planet at the southern tip of the Marspira Sector. Its vast scores of tall, towering trees overshadowed its many lakes and larger bodies of water for ages. Whatever land was left was highly arable land, providing the hard-working civilians on its surface plenty of proper chances to build successful farms, along with sprawling, densely populated colonial settlements.
Up until August 2185, Barabos had gone unscathed during the Second Galactic War. Its northern neighbors of the Marspira Sector would be less fortunate, as the socialist
Automatons would constantly menace the northern line of the region. The line would eventually be referred to by some as the Curia-Tarsh-Mastia line, with the namesake planets being constantly contested between the
Automatons and
Super Earth. In particular, Tarsh and Mastia spent significant spells under Automaton occupation, with Curia being an overall strongly defended planet against most of the incursions it faced.
On August 19, 2185, Barabos's long-lasting innocence was soon to be hit with the harsh realities of war. Just moments after several successful liberation efforts by the
Helldivers in the Eastern Front, the
Terminids would seemingly respond in turn with a massive onslaught of Erata Prime, Fenrir III, Turing, and Achernar Secundus. All Helldivers were immediately ordered to deploy to the defense of these worlds and kill 6,000,000,000 Terminids to try to stop their brazen attack from worsening.
On August 21, the situation would worsen. With the Terminid attacks ongoing, the
Automatons appeared to join the offensive by launching 3 massive attacks on Charon Prime, Julheim, and Mort. The
Helldivers were thus ordered to kill 1,500,000,000 Automatons and hold both fronts at once... but this wouldn't be the end of it, as the
Illuminate would join the offensive and launch two insurmountable assaults on Grafmere and Parsh the next day. With all 3 factions launching massive invasions, the Helldivers were ordered to somehow hold all 3 fronts.
Super Earth was officially in crisis. All 3 fronts were pushed to the brink, though the line at the Terminid front would initially stabilize at Veld and Inari. However, the West and the South were in turmoil. The
Illuminate had stomped through Parsh and Grafmere, ravaged through Kerth Secundus and Myrium, and made it all the way to Effluvia in the Super Earth-bordering Cancri Sector. Simultaneously, the
Automatons had caused yet another crisis in the West. The rebuilt Automaton
Jet Brigade would resurface and launch an insurmountable attack on Curia. The Jet Brigade would easily take over Curia by the next day, and the Automaton
Incineration Corps would then resurface on Choohe and Penta. Eventually, by the morning of August 24, the
Incineration Corps would launch a brazen, massive, dual assault upon Bekvam III and Tarsh. Later in the afternoon, the
Jet Brigade would depart Curia and launch a still-massive attack on Fenmire, marking the first time they had reached this deep into the Marspira Sector.
For the first time in the War, Barabos was now under the direct threat of an Automaton invasion, as Fenmire was the only planet it was connected to at the time. Sure enough, by August 25, Fenmire had fallen to the Automaton
Jet Brigade in brutal fashion. Now, with the
Jet Brigade on the doorstep of Barabos, the writing was on the wall for the swampy world. By the morning of August 26, Barabos was invaded with a diminished, yet still powerful invasion fleet as 16 Automaton battalions arrived in its atmosphere.
The battle for Barabos was as brutal as many battles that had come during the War. The terrain had provided a particularly brutal battleground, with the tall trees and dense vines reducing the combat to what felt like Guerrilla Warfare with the
Automatons and
Helldivers both bringing heavy artillery to the fight. Despite the thousands of Helldivers who deployed to end the
Jet Brigade's reign of terror, the Corps would be too split up between the simultaneous incursions on Seyshel Beach, Veld, Mog, and Duma Tyr from Squid, Bug, and Bot alike. With all of the hard work the Helldivers engaged in on the ground, it simply wasn't enough, and the Automatons just didn't seem to lose enough strength from their prior incursions to be stopped.
By the next day, Barabos would tragically fall to the
Automatons, falling to the bots in their first ever attempted invasion of the planet.
Interim (Nov. 6th Encirclement)[]
As a result of the decisive offensive actions of the
Super Earth Armed Forces on Fenmire in early November, this planet was liberated from the
Automaton occupation on November 6th at 14:00 SEST. Since it was the only planet that connected Barabos with the main forces (or rather, with a large group of Automatons cut off from the monolithic front), this bright swampy tropical world soon became surrounded. The local contingent of robots, which did not have a high combat capability compared to groups on other planets, was attacked by a huge force of regular SEAF units supported by a little less than 1,000 Super Destroyers with
Helldivers. The resistance of the socialist aggressors was broken, so the Automatons began to retreat all over the planet.
Operation Bigger Apple[]
Though more wished to join the battle, the majority of the Corps was forced to head to the South amidst new orders from High Command to halt an
Illuminate offensive targeting Asperoth Prime and Andar. By 02:17 SEST on November 7th, more than 7% of the surface of the Barabos was returned to the embrace of Lady Liberty. Up until 16:20 SEST on November 8th, Barabos was gradually liberated by regular SEAF forces with the small support of about 400 Super Destroyers and Helldivers assigned to them. By that time, almost 30% of the planet's territory had been returned to the control of the Super Earth Armed Forces.
STRATEGIC OPPORTUNITY: RAINFOREST RESTORATION[]
However, at 16:24 SEST, the High Command received a notification of a strategic opportunity. Being a planet with an abundance of fairly dense bright jungles and swamps located in them, Barabos is of great interest to the
Federation, as its flora can be used to restore the last rainforests on Super Earth itself, largely destroyed by the
Illuminate during their invasion of the Heart of Democracy. The
Ministry of Defense agreed with the arguments of the
Ministry of Prosperity and recommended that the units of the
Helldiver Corps head to Barabos to ensure the careful transportation of its vegetation to Super Earth and support the advance of the Ground Forces.
The
Automatons resistance would fully collapse on the 9th of November at 7:09 SEST. No sooner did the dust settle then did
Ministry of Prosperity conservationists get to work uprooting cultivars and plant material to re-seed one Super Earth's destroyed rain-forests. Soon, Super Earth's natural beauty will be restored, thanks to the ecological protection efforts of the
Helldivers.
