Aurora Bay is one of the six planets that reside within the Valdis Sector. It is the second planet in the Valdis Sector to have begun liberation since the Reclamation, temporarily allowing Helldivers to fight in the heart of Automaton territory. Sadly, with the anniversary of the beginning of the Second Galactic War a week away, Aurora Bay has once again remained closed off to Liberty's light since the fall of Choohe at the very beginning of 2185, once again closing off the planet from Super Earth's reach.
History[]
Second Galactic War[]
Automaton Invasion of Cyberstan[]
Aurora Bay wasn't a part of the war until April 9th, 2184, during The Reclamation being captured by the sociopathic Automatons overnight. Previously thought to have been defeated, a disgusting, new fleet of Automatons arrived via FTL Jump and completely took over the Valdis Sector entirely, undoing Liberty's work.
Aurora Bay could do nothing but watch in horror as the insidious toasters laid seige to SEAF Defenses and Communications to all nearby planets, and was subsequently captured in little less than an hour.
Operation Crop Dust[]
Now deep within enemy territory, it was unable to feel the insurmountable light of Freedom again until December 5th, 2184, following the liberation of Choohe, after the failed Major Order to find and destroy the Automatons Jet Brigade factories. All Automatons operating on Choohe fully retreated to Auorora Bay, like the cowards they are. But the now-liberated Choohe allowed divers to FTL jump to Aurora Bay and begin liberation of the planet for the first time in the Second Galactic War, pursuing the retreating clankers, showing them the true meaning of freedom.
Some Helldivers speculate if this planet could possibly yield any FTL Lines to Cyberstan, and if the liberation of this planet could possibly lead to taking back Cyberstan, crippling the pathetic Automaton's defenses.
Operation Hydra's Head[]
Aurora Bay, while finally accessible to Super Earth, would not see any serious liberation efforts in its temporary availability. In reality, nearly all SEAF West efforts would come to a halt after the shocking reappearance of the Illuminate in the galactic south. This coupled with how heavily fortified the Automatons had made Aurora Bay (2.5%) would essentially cut off any serious liberation efforts on the planet.
Unfortunately, the lack of attention on the planet and on the Western Front would spell trouble for the Helldivers. The robots would seek to regain their lost claims in the Lacaille Sector, with the bots at Menkent, Penta, and Chort Bay sending 12 invasion fleets toward the frigid world of Lesath. With all Helldiver attention focused on repelling the resurgent Illuminate threat, the planet would fall by December 27, 2184. Then, just as the new year kicked off on Super Earth, the Automatons at Aurora Bay, Menkent and Chort Bay would send 11 more invasion fleets toward the recently liberated Choohe. Once again, as SEAF resources were concentrated attempting to dispatch the Illuminate threat at Sirius, Choohe's defense would ultimately be undermanned. The planet would fall on January 2, officially closing off all Helldiver advances into Aurora Bay and the entire Valdis Sector. Once again, the light of liberty would be closed off from the once innocent and beautiful world.
Operation Martyr's Calling[]
Amidst an ongoing Automaton offensive towards Malevelon Creek, the Cyberstan regime would rebuild the Jet Brigade Factories in this planet, while also pouring significant resources to increase its protection, raising its resistance index all the way up to 5%.
