Arkturus is one of the seven planets that reside within the Arturion Sector.

FTL Timeline

• February 8th, 2184: Arkturus is connected by FTL to Pioneer II and Wilford Station.
• June 13th, 2184: FTL lines to Pioneer II and Wilford Station are destroyed.

Trivia

• Arkturus takes after Arcturus, the fourth brightest star in the night sky, and the brightest star in the northern constellation Boötes
• The traditional name Arcturus is Latinised from the ancient Greek Arktouros and means "Guardian of the Bear"
• The planet also happens to be a reference to Arcturus Mengsk from the Starcraft series and its proximity to the Terminid space is another ironic reference to how he was defeated by the Zerg.
