| ~ Official Description |
Adhara is one of six planets that reside in the Gallux Sector.
Geography and Astrography[]
Countryside of Adhara consists of open plateaus and narrow passages through rocky formations. Only form of vegetation besides charred bushes are explosive mushrooms.
Planet goes through cycle of 3 weather states. First stage is a break from the fire that devours this planet. Sky gets clear and visibility spikes to far distances. Second stage is the firestorm proper, where sky itself burns, and multiple fiery tornadoes descend onto ground. It is important to stay mindful of their position, as any Helldiver caught inside will be immediately incinerated if they dont posses a fireproof armor. Third stage is post-fire fog, greatly reducing any visibility
On Cosmic scale, Adhara is sandwiched between its neighbors, and together with Afoyay Bay serves as stepping stone through Gallux Sector.
History[]
Second Galactic War[]
During the period of
Illuminate raids on Galactic South between December 2184 and April of 2185, Adhara remained one of the few planets ignored by the squids. Unfortunately Adhara's period of peace would not last long, as the planet was invaded by sizeable
Illuminate force on afternoon of August 23rd.
Due to
Helldivers being already spread thin, the defense was left to local
S.E.A.F. forces who were unable do more than delay the inevitable. The planet would be deemed lost on August 25th, 2185.
Operation Information Reclamation[]
On the 26th of January, 2186, the
Ministry of Truth confirmed after a lengthy investigation that the star of peace plans had been stolen, but not by an act of dissidence. Therefore, it could only have been an act of espionage, committed by an external enemy of
Super Earth. The technical capacity and manual dexterity required for such reprehensible espionage ruled out the
Terminids, meaning that only the
Automatons or
Illuminate could have carried it out.
Suspicion was primarily focused towards the
Automatons. More specifically their recently discovered planetary database on Clasa, a central processing hub for the machine-collective. However, hasty conclusions had to be avoided and all avenues of investigation had be exhausted. Therefore, the worlds of Yed Prior, Mog, and Adhara would also be searched. While these secondary audits represented significant strategic overhead, this expenditure of vital resources is the wholly necessary cost of our unwavering constitutional commitment to transparency, and to render our eventual retaliation unassailable under Galactic Law.
Momentum to recapture Adhara would be slow to build, thanks in no small to
Helldiver Corps initial focus towards Yed Prior and Clasa. Once their attention did turn towards the
Illuminate front, the
Helldivers initially focused their efforts towards Mog, however the fall of Valmox and the sudden invasions of both Afoyay Bay and Nivel 43 would quickly dash these efforts. Momentum to liberate Adhara would only build to sufficient amounts by the 28th of January, 2185, with the liberation of the settlement of Traitor's End.
Two days of fighting would follow, ending in the climactic battle of the planetary capital of Strength. Adhara would be retaken, although unfortunately the operation as a whole would be considered a failure due to the failed liberation of Mog. Though the investigation was blocked, in a fortuitous turn of impeccably accurate patriotic intuition, the stolen Star of Peace blueprints were thankfully located precisely where expected: Clasa.

Trivia[]
- The Adhara system is assumed to be named after the brighter of two stars in the Epsilon Canis Majoris binary star system. Epsilon Canis Majoris is the second brightest object in the Canis Major constellation, after Sirius and before Wezen.
