Acamar IV is one of the six planets that reside within the Jin Xi Sector. After the inauguration of the
Terminid Research Preserve, Acamar IV was been left under "Terminid" control, while in reality just serving as a experimental craddle for Terminids to be studied "in the wild". As such, it was under Super Earth control but appeared as Terminid controlled on the Galactic Map.
On November 12th, a massive breach in the Terminid Research Preserve occured and Acamar IV immediately returned to total Terminid control, which triggered
Terminid assaults on all of the planets connected to Acamar IV.
Topography and Astrography[]

Democracy Space Station in orbit over Acamar IV.
Acamar IV is a rugged and wild planet, with dramatic mountain peaks and rocky highlands. The defining feature of the planet is its mountains, which cover much of the landscape. These are broken up by green and fertile valleys and a jagged mist covered coastline.
The grasslands of Acamar are regularly bathed by planetwide rainstorms that, while beautiful and a blessing from Liberty herself in times of peace, will often help shroud whatever fascist scum happens to be invading Acamar's surface with the reduced visibility. Acamar is inhabited by a limited range of xenofauna in the form of bioluminiscent insects that can only be seen during rainstorms or at night, as well as having scattered culture of xenofungi that, when disturbed, will release a thick, inert spore cloud that can serve as an emergency smokescreen and help detect enemy patrols. Should said xenofungi be disturbed by explosions or gunfire, the release of spores will occur with greater force and will be capable of stunning and ragdolling nearby Helldivers.
Periodic rainstorms occur all across the planet, lasting several minutes. The rain makes it harder for enemies to detect any Helldivers that may be nearby, allowing for stealthy takedowns and being yet another indisputable proof that nature is on the side of Freedom. While thunder can occasionally be seen and heard during these rainstorms, it never impacts the area of operations and is never an influential factor during missions.
Acamar IV is home to 2 Mega Cities, which have been listed below by tier. Mega City tiers have no effect on level generation and only serve to determine a city's health pool in the galactic war map.
- Democracy Always (Tier 1 - Settlement)
- Eridani (Tier 3 - City)
The stormy fields of Acamar IV
Acamar IV is the fourth planet in its system, with at least 2 rocky planets being within its vicinity. The Acamar System sits at the literal doorstep of the Barrier Planets, being immediately connected to Turing and, therefore, being a critical position to be held whenever the
Xenoentomology Centre is targeted by the Terminid horde. Additionally, it is one of the only 2 planets through which Darius II can be reached, which makes it a strategically valuable planet to control for matters concerning the protection of the
Factory Hub in Achernar Secundus and the Borgus Sector at large.
History[]
Second Galactic War[]
Supercolony Spore Outbreak[]
Acamar IV was, up until June 2184, a peaceful planet colony of Super Earth sitting just at the edge of the Eastern Galactic Mid Rim. Having been settled in the Great Expansion Era after the end of the First Galactic War, its history lacks many moments worthy of note.
The planet of Acamar IV was initially able to avoid the worst of the Second Galactic War, until massive bug outbreaks suddenly erupted across the planet, along with nearby Heeth, Angel's Venture, Veld. The spores that caused these outbreaks being identified as originating from the Meridian Supercolony, which was producing far more spores than other infested planets, leading to unpredictable outbreaks within its vicinty. The researchers of the
Ministry of Science set to work searching for an effective countermeasures, though in the meantime
Helldiver Corps was ordered to contain these outbreaks, before they could spread out of control.
In these efforts, they were partially successful, with the outbreaks on Heeth, Angel's Venture and Veld being brought under control. However the outbreak on Acamar IV was only partially contained when the major order finally expired, with the
Terminids spawning yet more agents of tyranny. Even worse however is what kind of effect these spores will have on the planets topography, though if Meridia is any indication, it can't be anything good.
As such, evacuation orders were issued for all nearby planets in the Jin Xi Sector and beyond. The citizens of Super Earth were forced to flee their homes, with only the clothes on their backs and their family flags. Yet this is unlikely to be the last of the necessary evacuations or outbreaks, which must be contained until the Ministry of Science finds a way to combat the Supercolony.
Despite the valiant, unmeasured efforts of the
Helldivers, Acamar would end up being too late for liberation. The
Ministry of Humanity wants all readers to allocate 1 full minute of their lunch break in order to commemorate all the lives lost in this unforeseeable, inevitable calamity.
Operation Enduring Peace[]
Acamar IV, while being lost during the initial Supercolony Spore Outbreaks, would not be lost outright, instead enduring several weeks of liberation campaigns and recaptures due to the persistent connection to the Meridia Supercolony. However, its salvation would come from a dangerous, unlikely source. Scientists in Moradesh had been tasked with manufacturing a new type of super-weapon, rooted in recovered
Illuminate technology from the First Galactic War: The Dark Fluid, a weapon capable of artificially creating black holes.
On May 28, 2184, the Super Earth High Command made the decision to deploy the Dark Fluid on Meridia, which would obviously and regrettably mean its destruction. From May 28 to May 29, the Helldivers fought to hold a line of planets that connected Moradesh to Meridia, which were Fenrir III, Turing and Angel's Venture. Then, from May 29 to May 30, the
Helldivers would fight tooth and nail to deploy the Dark Fluid, keeping away the hordes of Terminids as they drilled the Dark Fluid into the surface of the Supercolony. By the afternoon of May 30, the Dark Fluid had managed to reach critical mass and collapsed into a black hole, destroying the Terminid Supercolony for good and siphoning away all of its spores into itself, crippling the Terminid advance and paving the way for a counter-attack.
From May 31st on, Acamar IV, along with Erata Prime, Turing and Phact Bay, are on the sights of Super Earth, their liberation now imminent. The Major Order was completed on June 6th.
Falstaff and Jin Xi Lockdown[]
From June 6th onwards, Acamar IV would see mostly peace, with only occasional Terminid assaults touching it, mostly coming from neighboring Gacrux. Even as other planets like Pandion-XXIV and Phact Bay saw much worse invasions, Acamar IV would remain mostly untouched and would spend the majority of the major order under firm Super Earth control.
Operation Righteous Expunge (July 18th - July 21st)[]
Acamar survived most of the anti-bot operation in tenuous peace. On morning of July 20th,
S.E.A.F. infrastructure reported Terminid Spores reaching the planet surface. Bugs immediately begun spreading, and the Terminids inside E-710 farms went rabid as hivemind established itself on planet. Scant SEAF forces were overwhelmed on following day.
Operation Glorious Xenocide (July 21st - July 23rd)[]
During the break between Major Orders, majority of
Helldivers redeployed onto Acamar to contain the bug infestation before it could spread further into Jin Xi sector, as well as Umlaut. Shortly thereafter, a major Terminid Spore Barrage has hit neighboring Turing, which was swiftly defended. Following in their decisive strike, full planetary control over Acamar was re-established in morning of July 23rd, and any runaway bugs were herded back into their sufficiently sized pens.
Operation Brute Force[]
Following its liberation, Acamar IV would spend the rest of July and the 2 weeks of August in well-earned freedom, with the only minor interruption being a Terminid outbreak that would be quickly repelled during Operation Benevolent Sanitation. However, it would be during Operation Lighthouse that Acamar IV would face the new horrors that the Terminids were bringing. With the apparition of The Gloom, the Terminids were now bolstered and began to launch multiple successive assaults, with Acamar IV being assaulted at the same time as Erata Prime. Acamar IV's defense would honorably sacrifice itself in order to allow the Helldivers to concentrate on Erata Prime so that the Barrier Planets remained unsurpassed. Acamar IV would fall to the Terminid infestation and remain as such for 4 long, horrid days as the Helldivers were ordered back towards the Automatons as they advanced into the Marspira Sector.
However, once the robotic threat was repelled, the
Helldivers would be ordered back to the Terminid Front. After the sabotaging of Operation Prometheus, Super Earth High Command was detecting rapid spreading of the Gloom's intergalactic Terminid spores. As such, they issued a major order in order to hold back the incoming fascist nebula while culling as many Terminids, and especially Bile Titans, as possible.
While Acamar IV was not part of the operation's targets, it wound up being liberated on August 24th, shortly after nearby Crimsica. Acamar IV's liberation would happen at just the right time since, some hours later, the Terminids would begin a dual assault onto Estanu and Socorro III, which would enjoy all of the Helldivers' attention now that the Gloom was beginning to slow down its expansion in the face of the mighty
Super Earth.
Operation Leap Forward[]
Acamar IV would remain free for the rest of August and most of September. However, the Terminids would not allow that freedom to last. On September 24th, mere days after being righteously dislodged from Pandion XXIV, the Terminids launched an assault onto the underdefended Acamar IV. Due to the required focus on the Automaton-controlled Gaellivare and Clasa, Acamar would fall to Terminid control the next day.
Operation Alcubierre-II[]
However, this would not be the end of it as, pretty much a day later, the Terminids at Acamar immediately made a move for Turing. However, this move couldn't have been timed any worse, as Super Earth had just issued plans for the construction of a Xenoentomology Center in order to make the Super Destroyers' Alcubierre Warp Drives more efficient in their E-710 consumption. As such, the
Helldivers were ordered to hold Turing by all means. After a whole 2 days of defending the planet, the unusually resilient Terminid onslaught was repelled and sent back to Acamar IV, where part of the Helldiver Corps gave chase but couldn't really make much breakthroughs, as the Bugs had managed to deeply entrench themselves into Acamar IV.
Once the
Helldivers repelled the assault on Turing, they immediately set up Acamar IV's liberation as a secondary objective for the operation, as Acamar IV presented the most immediate threat against the construction of the Xenoentomology Center. For 6 days, the Helldivers fought tooth and nail over Acamar, making slow but steady progress towards the grassy planet's liberation until, on October 3rd, Acamar IV would be liberated almost on tandem with the nearby defensive victory at Turing, which completely crushed the Terminids and allowed the Xenoentomology Center to be completed, granting the Helldivers victory.
Operation Ring of Freedom[]

| ~ |
Shortly after the victory at Operation Alcubierre-II, the Xenoentomology Center would see a special need to study the
Terminids on a "natural" environment. However, the
S.E.A.F. was wary of the Terminids being left unchecked. As such, a Terminid Research Preserve had to be constructed in a planet neighboring Turing. And the best fit was Acamar IV, which had been recently liberated.
This research preserve was to be heavily guarded and monitored, as Terminids would be carefully seeded into the planet and continuously monitored and contained with electrified fences and armed guards. However, for this to work, Acamar IV had to be completely detached from the main Terminid broods at its adjacent planets. As such, on October 11th, the order was given for all of the planets connected to Acamar IV to be taken and held by the Helldivers for 6 days while the Terminid Research Preserve was constructed.
After some initial pacification efforts and the preventive closing of FTL Supply Lines, Acamar IV would be designated as a "Demilitarized Terminid Zone", meaning that it would appear as if it was under Terminid control on the Galactic Map but its FTL Supply Lines were still usable by all
Super Earth vessels.
On October 18th, Acamar IV's supply lines had been secured and the Terminid Research Preserve had been opened. Terminids had been seeded carefully into the planet and were heavily monitored by SEAF Wardens at all times of the solar cycle, contained with electrified fences both above and below ground and, in case of a Terminid outbreak, nuclear bombardment was set to automatically initiate upon the first signs of a containment breach.
For the civilian population, a new section called the "Tyranny Park" was opened, meant to allow the bolder civilians among the population to visit and even participate in tours called "Big Tyrant Hunts", meant to fund the Terminid Research Preserve and encourage the general population to deepen their understanding of the Terminids' horrid fascism and, obviously, how to appropriately deal with the insects.
With the construction of the Tyranny Park and the Terminid Research Preserve, the cities of Democracy Always and the planetary capital of Eridani would be constructed in order to house all of the staff for the theme park, the research preserve and their families.
Operation Spark of Liberty[]
Acamar IV would have remained pretty much untouched after the inauguration of the Terminid Research Preserve. In the weeks that proceeded it, many advancements were made and the Democracy Space Station would be completed thanks to its contributions. However, not everything was going to go right for the grassy planet. On October 24th, Gacrux and Pandion-XXIV fell to a
Terminid attack from Partion, which left Acamar IV exposed to the main Terminid territories and the Gloom's influence until both planets were liberated 6 days later. At the time, it seemed nothing had happened, but this lack of caution would be the spark that ultimately spelled disaster for Acamar IV.
On November 12th, in the middle of a busy day for the Tyranny Park, a massive underground Terminid hive erupted spontaneously, leading to a bloody massacre of visitors and park staff alike. Acamar IV was overrun in mere minutes, which prevented the nuclear security measures from being activated and allowed the Terminids to take over the planet without any impediment. Once Acamar IV fell, it launched 5 simultaneous attacks onto all of the planets connected to it. This catastrophe could not have been any more poorly timed, as the Automaton
Jet Brigade had also just returned in massive numbers and destroyed the DSS Logistics Hub on Tarsh.
The painting was clear on the wall that the Helldivers had to act quick before more damage had to be done. Despite Acamar's positioning, High Command gave the indication to protect the Xenoentomology Center at Turing by all means, as it still contained critical research material on the Terminids, pretty much dooming Acamar IV and all of its attached planets to perdition.
While Turing was able to be saved, the tragedy at Acamar IV was a complete military disaster, product of dissidents among the Helldiver Corps that caused their attention to be divided and their focus to be lost in the moment when it counted most.
As Acamar IV's liberation campaign is underway, millions of refugees poured into the Celeste Sector through Turing, fleeing from the violence as their homes burned and the
S.E.A.F. scrambled to alleviate the situation.
On November 17th, Acamar IV would be liberated, shortly after the arrival of the Democracy Space Station. With it, the
Helldivers would manage to quickly contain the Terminids and secure control of what little remained of the Terminid Research Preserve, as well as the ruins of the now devastated Tyranny Park.
Operation Vermintide[]
Acamar IV would be safe into the new year, with the Terminids not willing to risk another incursion onto the planet with their current forces. However, on April 17th, 2185, everything changed when the
Predator Strain, never before seen so far from The Gloom, made planetfall and began their assault. With the
Helldivers largely unable to rally enough forces onto the planet, It quickly fell to the bugs. But hope was not lost.
On April 19th, the
Terminids made a crucial blunder by assaulting two planets at once off of Acamar. this attracted the attention of High Command, since one of the two planets was Turing, home of the
Xenoentomology Centre. As such, they sent out an informational advisory, and the majority of the
Helldiver corps deployed onto the planet. After a day of combat, on April 20th the valiant Helldivers ended both assaults via a Defence Gambit, and Acamar saw the light of liberty once more.
A Helldiver awaits their extraction as they watch 2 Eagle Fighters flying close to their position after providing Close Air Support. July 30th, 2185
Operation Gloom Piercer[]
Though many of the planets around it would not budge under the might of the
Helldivers, Acamar IV was untouched until July 30th, 2185, when the Spore Burst variants of the
Terminids, originally residing in the Gloom, attacked Acamar via Gacrux. With a staggering invasion level 50, hope may seem lost, but with two Mega Cities left standing, and likely to be liberated, all hope is not lost.
Over 30,000
Helldivers, roughly speaking 70% of the active corps at the time, would answer the call to defend the planet alongside the venerable
Democracy Space Station. The battlestation would conduct an "Eagle Storm" air counter-offensive in support of
S.E.A.F. forces on the ground, completely halting Terminid infestation progress and supporting the
Helldivers and their operations.
The initial fighting would see the Helldivers prioritize the security of Acamar's planetary capital of Eridani, with the Helldivers quickly advancing and gaining ground against the attacking insects, while remaining Super Destroyer squadrons would proceed to engage the Terminids in other, more rural regions throughout the planet. The fighting on Eridani was noticeably vicious, with high civilian death tolls product of the necessarily excessive deployment of orbital ordnance and Eagle Fighter Close Air Support. However, the road to Prosperity is paved with the skulls of those who die in the name of Freedom. For every civilian's unfortunate demise, a hundred bugs followed and, within the first 8 hours of the Terminid onslaught, the Helldivers had managed to eradicated 25% of the invading horde, with Eridani being 70% secured and projected to be completely Terminid free within just a couple more hours.
Additionally, about seven hours after the
Terminids made planetfall, Spore Burst Scavengers started appearing far more than normal. But this was not enough to stop the might of the
Helldivers, with the planet being successfully defended.
Operation Lost World[]
MINOR ORDER - Tyranny Park 2 Expansion[]
On the 15th of August, whilst attempting to secure Crimsica in order to build a new and improved E-710 farm to shore up FTL fuel stockpiles, Acamar IV would suffer a sudden outbreak of the
Predator Strain, threatening to encircle the
S.E.A.F. on Crimsica. Fortunately
Terminids are not strategically inclined as by point planetary liberation of Crimsica was all but assured, making the attack on Acamar IV a forlorn one.
Not only that, but the recently announced "The Forbidden Gloom" zone of Tyranny Park 2's would just so happen to require suitably fearsome larvae of the
Predator Strain and Spore Bust Terminids. As such the victorious
Helldivers and
S.E.A.F. would then relieve the besieged Acamar IV, with the defense continuing into the 16th. Though the defense looked uncertain for a time, the successful defense of the planetary capital of Eridani seeing the
Predator Strain horde all but broken.
S.E.A.F. Containment Teams and xenozoologists would take over cleanup and specimen acquisition operations on the planet at 10:30 SEST, 16th of August. The
Helldivers meanwhile would launch a counter offensive towards Pandion-XXIV in order to secure Spore Bust Terminid larvae.
Operation Gloom Tide[]
Acamar would go on quietly for the next few weeks, watching on as the Tripartite Offensive of late August 2185 ravaged all 3 fronts of
Super Earth. Swaths of territory would fall to the tide of tyranny, with the
Terminids,
Automatons, and
Illuminate all wreaking havoc across dozens of planets. For Acamar and its neighbors, they would manage to avoid the fate of many other worlds, hoping for the best yet prepared for the worst.
Despite surviving these latest attacks, Acamar wouldn't go unscathed much longer. Amidst yet another offensive by the
Terminids shortly after the
Helldivers' first expedition onto Hive World Oshaune, Acamar would be attacked in a double assault from the just-fallen Gacrux, along with Pandion-XXIV on September 11th.
However, the attacks from the
Terminids could not be more poorly timed. As part of the assaults from Gacrux, The Gloom had seemingly spread to the planet's atmosphere in low densities. As such, the
Helldivers were given a minor order to liberate Gacrux within 72 hours to stop the Gloom's growth. As such, the Helldivers would double their efforts to swiftly liberate the planet, accomplishing their goal by September 12th, which automatically ended the assaults upon Pandion and Acamar. All 3 planets stood, as did freedom.
Operation Big Brother[]
Now, finally out of the limelight, Acamar would enjoy a semblance of peace for an extended time. Following the liberation of Turing in early October, the pocket of planets that remained encircled, including Gacrux, Pandion-XXIV, Acamar, and Crimsica, would finally be reconnected to the rest of the
Federation of Super Earth on the Eastern Front, bringing fresh supplies and support to each planet.
Now, only flanked by the
Terminids on Darius II, Acamar faced relatively few threats. Yet, in November 2185, these threats would feature themselves once again. Amidst the legendary liberation of Hive World Oshaune from the
Terminids between the end of October and November, Gacrux would fall to the Terminid menace. Then, with the issuing of Operation Big Brother to collect samples from
Illuminate and
Automaton worlds on November 13th, Pandion would be invaded and captured by the Terminids on the 14th.
Now surrounded by numerous threats, it seemed that Acamar's peace was becoming more and more fraught by the moment. Sure enough, on the 18th, whilst the
Helldivers were still collecting
Automaton samples, the
Terminids at Gacrux sent out a powerful swarm of 16 million broods to overtake Acamar. Luckily, with how much time Acamar had spent under
Super Earth Control, the planet could last 48 hours before falling.
A sizable contingent of
Helldivers would deploy to Acamar to halt the
Terminid advance, and a vote is currently being held about whether or not to send the
Democracy Space Station- which is armed with the Eagle Storm feature- to the planet's atmosphere.
Operation Tide of Tyranny[]
Sensing an opportunity for expansion,
Terminids would once again return to Acamar system on evening of November 23rd. With most of the
S.E.A.F. pulled back into inner Federation space to deal with Dissident activity. With most of Eastern Front collectively agreeing on the defense, settlement of DEMOCRACY ALWAYS was quickly defended. Yet despite that victory, calculations were not positive.
The defense force would take a hit on late morning of following day, as similar expansionism has been spotted in Inari system to the south. But the helldivers held fast. Together with
Democracy Space Station, a fierce and close battle ensued for the next two days - Forces both in the countryside, as well as in colonies and city of ERIDANI confirmed eradication of all feral bugs by evening of November 25th, a much-needed morale boost after the absolute disaster at the failed defense of Lesath against the
Incineration Corps a day prior. Together with the DSS, Divers instantly redeployed to now besieged Bekvam III, to help with yet another
Incineration Corps attack.

Trivia[]
- Ancient Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cultures referred to Eridanus as “the river,” and Acamar was called “the end of the river.” This name had previously been given to the star Achernar before Acamar was added to the constellation.
- The city of Eridani is another reference to Eridanus as it is the name of the star Epsilon Eridani.
