The AR-23A Liberator Carbine is an assault rifle found in in Helldivers 2.

A shortened version of the AR-23 Liberator, the AR-23A enjoys a 50% boost to it's RoF, at the cost of noticeably increased recoil. It also sports an open reflex sight, instead of the multi-role optical sight found on most other assault rifles, which gives the user a better field of view.

This particular version is customized by the Viper Commando Team of the SEAF, sporting undergrowth camo, a receiver-mounted tool kit, and an improvised egronomic grip for comfort.

It can be unlocked on the first page of Warbond: Viper Commandos.

Shifting away from the balanced nature of the AR-23, the AR-23A is fully committed to burst damage, possessing a high RoF similar to machine guns set on their highest setting. It is capable of dealing the second-highest burst DPS of any assault rifle, only behind the AR-61 Tenderizer.

With these in mind, the Liberator Carbine is best used for close defense. As the higher recoil it possesses does not lend itself well to marksmanship.

Gameplay Tips[]

  • The AR-23A excels in close range fighting, making it more suited towards Terminids. But the sheer amount of rounds it fires, makes it a decent weapon against Automaton Devastators at close-range for when you need to get a headshot kill.
  • The weapon can remain reasonably accurate at medium range, but only in bursts.
  • The weapon burns through ammunition at an alarming rate. Be careful when using it consistently on full-auto.
